Lovely weekend retreat

Just got back from this lovely well thought of site. The owners have obviously put a lot of effort into this retreat . It has a coin operated EHU which we used £4 every 24 hrs. A tip would be to check it before you go to bed as we didn’t on the first night and ran out of electricity. Totally our fault being numptys. Large pitches with water and waste point . The site has two toilets and a shower( didn’t use shower) only thing I could see it doesn’t have is a motor home waste point to empty grey waste but we have a caravan. Nice to visit the windmill which is open on Saturdays and some lovely local walks . Would recommend

One of the best CL’s that we’ve used in over 40 years of caravanning

Just come back from a fortnight break at this superb cl and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The owner is very friendly and has clearly put a lot of money and effort into Willow Beck, the layout is neat and tidy and kept in pristine condition, with plenty of space on each pitch; the bonus is that the pitches are serviced but it is worthwhile taking extension piping to reach the tap and drain. Yes, there is a little road noise, mainly at rush hour times but not enough to bother us. A big bonus is the shower and two toilets, both free and spotlessly clean. Electricity is by coin meter and we used an average of £3 a night, which for the first fortnight of April with heating and hot water twice a day we thought was good. Would definitely recommend the Royal Oak in the village, within walking distance and dog friendly, we had dinner there in the week and Sunday roast twice, couldn’t believe how cheap it was. Definitely a CL that is worth another visit!!

Peaceful site with beautiful views

Easy to find well maintained site. Lots to say about this little CL. Security is good with cameras at the gate and lighting, toilets and shower looked immaculate, but we were away in our motorhome for the first time so wanted to use our own facilities. bird boxes and little bug hotels dotted around shows a love of nature including a bird feeding station, will be great to go back in the spring. Love the fact the ugly electric boxes had even been painted brown to blend in. Electric is on a meter taking £1 and £2 coins. we had heating and hot water, lights and TV on for a night and we spent just under £5 which I don't think is bad. Fairly new site only going to improve with time as new bushes and trees have been planted, giving privacy. Only a 10 min walk into the village with a quaint little shop with everything you could need, and a pub right next door to it serving lovely food. On our list of favourite sites now. What a find :)

Ticks all the boxes!

We were looking for a site close to where our friends had booked an Air BnB. The site was convenient, local pub in easy walking distance, village store that is quite well provisioned. On arrival we were impressed with the site, even more so when we found out there are facilities that include toilets as well as a shower. The site is exceptionally well maintained, the owner Abraham is hands on and has done a great job in providing a site for caravanners and motorhomers. If you are looking for a relaxed site to chill, somewhere as a base for visiting local interests or just a break, this site is well worth a visit. Electric is metered, but in someways it is a good thing as it made us think of our electric usage, we put some of the extras on our Motorhome to use. In our opinion, this is a well cared for and maintained site designed with CAMC members requirements in mind. Highly recommended.

Manicured Perfection

The quality care that the owners, Abrahams and Aiesha, have applied to this site is immediately apparent from the professionally printed sign at the entrance - with signage across the site thus exemplified. Wide entrance leading to a perfect gravel drive leading in turn to each hard standing pitch - superb pitch quality with water, drainage and electricity to each pitch - each service column lit by PIR cells. The site benefits from solar lights with Abraham an advocate of off-grid. His experience of solar panels for off-grid caravanning is well worth exploring. We chose this site as a four day trial with our new van - already in love with our van this site was a perfect location. Two toilets and a shower are a stunning feature for any CL but the quality here is superb. Abraham was on hand offering help and guidance freely. The birds were a little shy of my feeder but the rabbits on site were a delight obviously not aware of the patrolling barn owl. A short stroll way is the oldest working windmill in the country; open to the public on Saturdays, Dusty Millar gave us his time to explore many features of the mill. We also enjoyed Idle Valley nature reserve when we managed to tear ourselves from our BBQ - Abraham provides picnic benches and tables. Willow Beck Retreat - a superbly apt name for this exquisite site.

Smart clean well kept cl site.

We stayed here for 2 nights this weekend. We were very impressed with the standard of this CL Site. One of the best we have stayed at in our many years of using CL sites for caravaning and now in our motorhome. The pitches are all gravelled to CAMC standard and are super pitches with your own water drain and soon to be electric hook up. The 2 toilets and 1 shower are all kept immaculate. We met the owner Abraham on Saturday who has worked very hard to get his CL to this standard, he showed us how the site looked when he took over and the difference now, and his plans for the future. The site is eco friendly with solar lighting all around. We hope to return in the future and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this CL.

Welcoming hosts

Chose this site as a weekend away May bank holiday to visit Gainsborough Old Hall, and was interested to learn how we would cope “ off grid”. Proved to be an inspired choice as its location was superb for us and Abraham and Aiesha were at hand to make sure we had a great stay. There’s an old historic windmill a short walk away that is open on a Saturday where Ian will enthusiastically show you around ( thanks again Ian ). Gainsborough Old Hall is very interesting/ Gainsborough isn’t apart from Gainsborough Heritage Centre. Retford was a nice little town with a variety of shops. We also cycled to Idle Valley nature reserve. The site is also close to Sundowners Theme Park for those visitors with small children. Ther is a cabin with a shower, toilet and sink and another with sink , toilet. Both were very clean and shower hot. Overall this is a super site that can only get better as Abraham is very passionate about improving his site. We will definitely be making a return for a visit again.
