Lovely 3 nights away

Lovely site, large well cared for field with electric, water taps and toilet waste point. Enjoyed the farm tour by a very hardworking Patricia, the couple never stop. Just missed seeing a calf born but great to see it over the fence running about. Nice area for walking with the dogs and cycling. Totally relaxing stay in the countryside.

Farm life

We were welcomed by Patricia with a big smile and a gift of half a dozen fresh eggs. Patricia explained the running of the farm and told us about the rescue animals. She invited us to tour the farm the next day. Both Patricia and her husband Chris are passionate about rearing their animals in the most humane way possible . The tour was very informative and interesting. The CL pitches are very spacious and flat with views across the fields. A most enjoyable stay.

Excellent place to stay

We have just stayed at this wonderful working farm, fantastic welcoming from Chris followed by Patricia visiting our van with a welcome pack and free range fresh eggs... The site is very well maintained and very clean, grass pitch which was lovely to park on, very flat and although it rained did not get muddy atall. We also had a farm tour where we learnt what Patricia and Chris do on the farm and Patricia's passion for animals which was very touching hearing some of her stories on how she gained the animals she has, the farm is very well run and the animals are all beautiful, im booking again thats for sure x

week in september

welcomed on site when owner home from work with list of local details and phone numbers and eggs a lovely surprise. Came to site as approx 15 minutes to Oulton Park race circuit for BSB motorbike racing. Lovely scenery, quiet (except when cows got going but what do you expect in the country) and lots to do locally.

Confirmation of previous reviews.

To confirm the previous reviews this C.L is one of the best we have visited, The family that run the site are extremely helpful and cannot do enough to make the stay worth while and pleasant.. The farm tour given by Patricia is enjoyable and informative, and my better half cant wait to do it again ,the eggs we received on arrival were fresh and tasty and free please add the bacon etc next time( thank you)!!!!! Its a C.L that we will revisit A.S.A.P. NOTE We understand from the owner that the site is open all year and does close in October as per the information on the club notes.but advise that this is checked with the owners.

Amazing stay

We had an amazing time down at the farm. Patricia gave us a lovely tour despite being very busy. We learned a lot and met all the lovely animals, poultry, calves, poneys! Christopher took the time to tell us all about his job and let us pet the calves. The site was clean leveled, elsan point was practical and out of the way. The only thing I'd say is the CL entrance sign could be bigger but that is probably on the CMC side as they all have the same tiny one.. Maybe a big sign of there own to emphasize the entrance. A great place to stop. Oh and we were greeted with 6 free range eggs from the farm and a nice liflet with all the info about the area what to do where to eat.. really great host work !

Warm and Welcoming

We love this quiet site. The hosts were so welcoming and gave everyone visiting freshly laid eggs. The hosts work tirelessly on the working farm and have quite a few rescued animals, but don’t feed the animals as most are on special diets for medical reasons. A tour of the the farm was greatly received and recommended. This is a perfect little site for dogs, children and adults with plenty of room. The owners don’t mind where you site on the field but if you want to stay at the far end just bring a long EHU cable. I asked my husband what he thought and he said don’t tell everyone as I want to be able to come back! Needing your own facilities wasn’t a problem for us but I do think the owners have plans to add some. We visit family in the local area so intend to use this site as our base when we do so. Thank you so very much for a lovely stay.

What a great find

Just visited last weekend, what a great CL. I would imagine it would be fairly quiet but they were getting the hay in so it wasn't on this occasion but it wasn't an issue. Lovely couple Pat & Chris and such hard working people - nothing was too much trouble for them, and Pat's passion for her animals whether that is for the horses, calves, pigs (and gorgeous piglets) to hens and guinea pigs is amazing and she is so caring. Lovely flat field and such a perfect place to sit and watch the wildlife, would definitely re-visit.

Amazing CL

Just wow 🤩 We have just come back from our first trip to this beautiful CL and it certainly won’t be our last, we all absolutely loved it !!! Large pitches and tons of room for the kids to play, you have to use your own amenities at the moment but that’s not a problem it’s soon to change,Me and my hubby took our 10 year old granddaughter and her friend and neither wanted to leave. What a wonderful 2 night break we had the dog loved it too especially her designated play area for her to run free, goes without saying it is preferred you keep them on a lead at all times to protect all of their beautiful animals and of course yours, Patricia and Chris (your hostes) have gone to great lengths to make this happen. Scenery is beautiful, a narrow lane to reach the farm but well worth the risk of a tractor coming the other way 😂 I’m sure he would be delighted to reverse back to an opening to let you pass. The Red bull pub is within walking distance, very friendly again only just opened back up so not serving food at the moment but a very nice place, a co-op also walking distance. The girls and I had a fabulous farm tour to meet all of their beautiful animals, it shines out so much how much each and every one of them is so loved 🥰 Patricia also has quite a few rescues ie giant rabbits, ducks, chickens, Ginny pig’s and a delightful Jack Russell called Spud 😊 I could listen to Patricia all day long she has some wonderful stories to tell. We were lucky enough to meet all the new piglets too and of course lucky the calf with their own stories to tell. The highlight for the girls was to get to ride one of the pony’s 😊 thank you Patricia for that you made their stay so memorable as it was their first time riding they send you a big hug. Well I could go on and on but I’ll leave the rest for you to discover this is a CL must but please leave room for us we will be back 👌 nearly forgot 🙈 thank you for the fresh eggs on arrival they were delicious and didn’t last very long 😋 we brought some home too. Ps……. They have lots of great things planned to make it even better if that is possible in the near future look out for their news we can’t wait. 10/10
