Great CL!!!

We had a super time here at the woodhead farm for a one night stay, breaking up our journey from Scotland to Lichfield! The kids loved the play frame and all the farm animals. The owner was lovely and very friendly. There was a bit of motorway noice but it was a gentle humming which did not bother us at all. In fact the proximity to the motorway was a benefit to us. The toilets and showers were super clean and very spacious. Would definitely stay here again!

Very happy to recommend!

Beautiful well kept site! We spent 2 nights here in April with our grandchildren and were offered a place next to the small play area. This was our 2nd visit to this site, which has spacious pitches and is clean and well cared for by very friendly and helpful owners . There is lots to do in the area and with 3 other caravans on the site, who had all visited before, we were not the only people to have discovered the charm of this excellent cl site!

Very peaceful friendly site

We stayed here on our way to catch the ferry from Cairnryan. Very easy to find within about 1 mile from the M6. The facilities were excellent, clean, warm and tidy. We had a great welcome from the owner. It is a very quiet and peaceful site. We would highly recommend this site not just for an overnight stop.

Excellent CL

Used this site as an overnight stop on route to Scotland. Very easy and short access from M6. Level pitches with water. Open views across fields. Excellent toilets. Only minor downside is faint noise from motorway but not an issue. Sun Inn lovely meal. Would stay again for longer if wanting to do the Northern lakes. Overall a very good cl.

Excellent site

Only stayed for one night as travelling north. Excellent site. Clean and well planned facilities. Showers and toilet excellent. Warm welcome by owner- it is £20 rather than the advertised £18, but worth it. Lots of information and ideal for a one night stop or lots more nights as there seems to be plenty of local interesting things to do. We shall certainly return to explore the area.

Ideal for stopover

This is a perfect site for an overnight stopover but I wouldn't want to stay longer because of the noise of the M6. The bathrooms were fine but could do with a bit of tlc and a deep clean. Lack of ventilation was a shame. We had originally booked for two nights but changed it to one. Be aware price goes up to £20 if you're only staying one night. The local pub has closed but The Sun Inn in Catterlen village was fantastic. It was friendly, lovely inside and the food was gorgeous and all homemade. The chef came out for a chat and was passionate about his work.

Better toilets and showers than a Club Site

Anyone needing an overnight stop or longer near Penrith on the M6 I can very highly recommend Woodhead Farm a quarter of a mile off junction 41. There are seven hardstanding 16amp serviced pitches well spaced out overlooking the fields, with a slide and swings for small children and a hut containing two of the poshest, cleanest toilets and showers I have ever seen on any site including the main club ones. A bonus for us was no dogs but the downside of being close to the motorway was that there is a constant low roar of traffic from the motorway. The owner gave us a warm welcome and access is very easy.

First Class C.L

Just returned from a five night stay at this C.L. Easy access off the M6 easy to find and in a great position for the Lake District, Penrith is a 10 minute drive away for all your shopping requirements, Ullswater and Keswick about 30 mins. Hard standing pitches with 16 amp electric hook up and water tap on each pitch, the toilet/shower block is heated and kept spotless. Julie and David, the owners are really nice people very friendly and welcoming, the C.L is open all year, this was our second visit and we will be back, one of the best C.Ls we have stayed on.

First visit to a CL

We stayed here on our way to the Lake District, we were not disappointed! What a great spot. Lovely site, easy to find, great facilities, the best shower rooms we've ever seen on a caravan site, and friendly owners. When we arrived on Thursday we parked up and later the owner Julie came to take payment, she welcomed us and told us of local pubs/restaurants we could have a meal in. We will definitely come again and stay longer next time. Simon and Jay.
