This has to be a C.L. of year winner

What a gem of a site, Julie & David have a wonderful site its certainly one to be proud of ,the toilets & showers are kept immaculately clean the grass is well mown each pitch has its own water & electric point & there are swings and a slide for the little ones in your party. Nothing is too much trouble for them , They are always ready to lend a helping hand or just to stop for a chat. Access from the M6 is so easy but don't let this be the only reason for your visit, there is so much to do in the surrounding area .We will certainly be returning again & wish Julie & David, Good Luck for the future for if anyone deserves it they do !

Surely award-worthy!

Like so many others we stopped off here on our way north at half - term and were amazed by what we found. In beautiful surroundings, the young and open-hearted owners have worked so hard to create a superbly appointed CL. Our level, hardstanding pitch, with its own service point was only a skip from the outstanding toilet and shower facilities: must be seen to be believed! Children have a play area which looked very tempting. Surely an award-winner in the future and I can only hope that we will get a chance to spend more time there, though we'd be very lucky indeed to be blessed with such beautiful weather a second time!

Tranquil/scenic CL

Recently stayed here for 2 weeks for the first time. Enjoyed the stay so much that we have booked again this year and for next year, need I say more. Good quality facilities, showers and loos with daily clean hand towels. We were there during the recent storm and the awning managed to stay anchored! Nice open views across the fields with cattle and sheep grazing occasionally frolicking across the fields. David and Julie, who run the farm and site are very welcoming, sparing time to chat around their busy schedule. Penrith is a few minutes away down the motorway or there is the more scenic route from the roundabout at junction 41 depending on where you want to be in the town. Ullswater and the Rheged centre are worth a visit, easily accessible from here, Cockermouth is also worth a visit from here.

If only David did breakfasts .....

.... This would be 100% perfect. Have been to this site three times now and can't find a fault. Nothing is two much trouble for Julie. If you haven't been you need to. Highly recommended.

Woodhead farm what a little Gem!

Such a little Gem! We used this site as a stopover to & from Scotland, and what a fantastic little site. The site is just off the M6 and easy to find and access, Julia & David were wonderful host's so friendly and welcoming, the pitches are clean & well kept with water and electric hook up to each pitch. There is clean modern shower toilet facilities within close distance from each pitch. The views across the fields of this working farm are great, there is a little road noise but nothing too bad. We will defiantly be using the site again and not just for a quick stop over.

To tell, or not to tell? That is the question.

Whether it is better to tell and risk not being able to get in again, or do the injustice of not telling and doing a grave disservice to this C/L? It really is a little gem, in every way. It's scenic, easy to find, beautifully appointed - the shower room is better than mine at home. David and Julie are great hosts. Its ideally placed for the northern Lakes, and the Eden valley and the Howgill fells. Really lovely, and I shall definitely stay again - if I can get in now I've told!!!

Woodhead Farm

First time visit to Woodhead Farm. On arrival we received a very warm welcome from the owners David and Julie who showed us around the facilities on site. The toilet block was modern and spotlessly clean with lovely hot showers. There was water and electric hook up to each pitch with lovely views over the fields surrounding the site. We were lucky to be there during the lambing season to see all the new life on the farm. Access to the site is very easy and less than a quarter of a mile from junction 41 of the M6. It is a perfect base for exploring the Lakes and surrounding areas. There is some light road noise depending on the way the wind was blowing but this did not disturb us in any way. This was our first visit to a CL and my wife and I were very impressed. We would certainly come here again and recommend this little gem to others. Mike and Ada Jordan

First visit to CL site

This was our first visit to a CL site and we were definitely not disappointed. Spacious and well laid out, friendly and helpful owner and spotless toilet and shower facilities. Though we weren't far from home, we enjoyed a lovely river walk and explored a castle and fortified hall, which we'd not previously visited! Loads of information available, if you're short of ideas. Thanks Julie for a brilliant weekend, from all the family - very happy to recommend! Stayed beginning of April - on lamb watch too!

What a lovely CL

Heartfelt thanks to Julie & David for giving us the chance to share this little corner of tranquility. Everything we hoped it would be and more. The site is immaculate, care, attention, and welcome paid, could not be bettered. Watching the new born lambs was delightful, and a wonderful lesson in relaxation. This CL should be held up as an example to all other CLs as to how it should be done. Thank you again Julie & David. Best wishes Lin & Tony Blades.
