Charming Site

Just spent 4 days here. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were welcomed onto the site on arrival. John (owner) advised us of a few basics, toilets, chemical waste etc. I found John very helpful and approachable. He made us aware of the website which is helpful. We had our dog with us and there are several walks, although not directly off of the site but all the same, worth looking for. The on-site dog walk is only really useful for a short toilet break walk but a nice touch. The site is very large for a CL, so lots of space. The views are excellent.  The facilities are very clean and basic, which is what you would expect. The site has lush grass and drains very well. The WiFi works very well with no problems logging on. All in all we had a great 4 days. Thanks.

Nice BUT!

Not often do we leave a site early but just had 2 weeks at this site and left a day early. Yes, the site is imaculate, yes the site is well placed to see the area.  General area very nice, nice walking and places to eat. Great farm shop at Priddy and pub, The queen Victoria. Main issue that I have is that we were not really made to feel welcome. We have 3 dogs and I would say the the site is NOT suitable for dogs. The dog walk was not a dog walk in my opinion. not the best welcome on a site that we have had. For this reason it is not one that we would return to.

Comment from The Club

Thank you for leaving a review.  The CL owners have been in touch as they wish to address any concerns as they work very hard to ensure that each visitor has the best possible time and stay on their site.  When a visitor arrives with a dog every owner is reminded that dogs are most welcome but please keep them on leads at all times when on site.  Owners are also respectfully reminded to clear up any dog mess. Many apologies if these rules made you feel unwelcome but the CL owners feel it is important to have some guidelines in place so that everyone can enjoy using the site.  Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.

Peaceful retreat.

Stayed at this site for 4 nights in July 2015.  Very peaceful and easy to find with good access.  Each pitch has plenty of room and the site overall is large.  John the owner is very welcoming and helpful.  Free Wifi available and TV, radio and mobile phone reception excellent. Would highly recommend this site.

Somerset at its best

This is a very well kept sight surrounded by beautiful scenery and is very well situated as a base for The Mendips, Cheddar, Wells and the surrounding area. The pitches are set on two sides of an acre field and are a good distance apart - it must be noted that they are all on gently sloping ground. The WC was always clean as were all the facilities. A gentle walk up to this WC in the middle of a cloudless, tranquil night, reveals a magnificent sky with little obvious light pollution! The owner, John Turner, was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The young rabbits were also very friendly, but they would run at the slightest provocation! This site really is hard to beat from every point-of-view. Maybe once a night or so a military helicopter may clatter overhead, but that is the only thing that, at a push, could be said to disturb the wonderful peace and tranquility! I can very highly recommend this site and should have no qualms at all staying here again.

Perfect CL

This gem is a haven of peace and tranquility, with beautiful views from the site. Slight road noise but is no way intrusive or a concern. Sloping large field with central orchard, provides for long reaching picturesque views, and does require levelling blocks, but plenty are supplied. Very well presented, has an attentive owner, making for a very pleasant stay. Local attractions from Glastonbury to the seaside resorts of Weston Super-Mare all with easy reach.

One of the best!

This was a lovely site to stay on.  We would strongly advise that you print out the information from the CL website as this was very useful.  Following the instructions on how to get there made arrival very easy as some of the roads in the area are not suitable for caravans. (Do not follow sat nav). When you arrive, the site and views are stunning.  An extremely well kept site and a lovely owner - what more could you ask for.  The wifi was so quick and easy to use and the TV reception perfect. Even levelling blocks were provided if needed.  This site would definately be our first choice if we are ever in the area again.

Just as it says on the tin.. My lovely!

Access to this site is more than acceptable directly into gravel driveway and then thru a gateway the Beauty of this spot hits you instantly. The well presented site sits comfortably at the foot of a couple of hillsides that add a picturesque back drop. The field is mowed to a high standard and the perimeter fenced and neatly edged. The pitches are well sized and in good condition, and yes a few blocks will be required to level your van. The hook up is 16 amp and within easy reach of your pitch. TV signal is good, the 02 signal is good but 3G none existent Altho the land owners do offer free wifi so what more could you ask for. John the land owner welcomed us within a couple of hours if arrival offering useful information and directions to nearest shops etc. the top of the field the usual facilities are located including a clean loo and wash basin. Water quality 10/10 disposal 10/10 recycling facility 10/10. Even a dog walk is located at the top corner.. All in all an excellent CL and a credit to its owners John & Wendy. My wife took a fall from the caravan step whist on our first day and the Turners couldn't do enough to help. Thank you both.

Truthful review

We have found the access to this site no problem at all, I have a 24ft. Caravan, note what the owner says in the information.  It has been very quiet and peaceful and the views are stunning. A great CL.

Excellent CL for the Mendips, Bath, Wells etc.

Easy to find and a good centre for exploration. Slope may need levelling blocks though most are OK if the jockey wheel is hoisted (not wound) up as far as possible. Take care if wet! Owners helpful and friendly. New WC is the only facility, apart from the usual water and Wi-Fi (which works very well). We hope to return.

Great place to stay

Everything we needed from a CL, John the owner was very welcomming and helpful. The site is large and slopes so needs leveling blocks which are provided if needed. The facilities are clean and modern and the views stunning. The surrounding area has lots to offer without the crowds you get in Devon and Cornwall. Can't wait to go again.
