A Wonderful Place to Stay

We recently stayed at this lovely site for 4 nights. Kathy and Joe are warm, friendly and helpful people and their site is immaculate - what a find! The site itself looks across to the Mendip hills rising behind it so the views are great. We became weather experts as we watched the clouds rolling along the hills, forming mist and disappearing from view depending on the weather daily. Fascinating. The site is perfectly kept - clean cut grass, neat trimmed hedges, immaculate shower and toilet facility, excellent waste and water areas, small dog walking area and poo bin (all kept very clean) and very wide spacing between pitches. My wife managed to nearly destroy our wash basin when we stayed and Kathy immediately offered contact numbers for caravan repairers who could come out and fix it. Nothing was too much trouble. Kathy and Joe have put their heart into this site and it really shows! You were right about those little dark red apples Joe - they were delicious and thank you for sharing them! Our only concern when we were about to leave was whether our Honda CRV could manage the slight slope of the site (we'd had a bit of a hairy stay in the Peak District on a very steep site previously - and with a different vehicle). Despite having lots of heavy rain during our stay and being on wet grass and pitching in the furthest, lowest point of the site - there was no problem at all!! Joe had already assessed we'd be OK so again thought had gone into our stay with them. Thank you Kathy and Joe for a wonderful few days!

Great Find

Love this part of the world and had been looking for a good small site. This one ticks all the boxes. Stayed here 2nd week of August for 4 nights and can`t fault it. The new owners are great, the facilities are excellent and despite inclement weather the scenery is fantastic. We will be back and will bring the sun with us next time. Thanks for a great stay.

Peaceful Site

We visited this site just 10 days after the new owners had taken over. They could not have been more helpful or friendly. Though the site is sloping there are plenty of blocks to help. We stayed for a week and can't wait for a return visit - the site is peaceful, clean, tidy, grass cut regularly, fantastic views and facilities great. We thoroughly recommend the site and are sure you will not be disappointed.

Woodlands CL

Second visit to this CL, and as ever well kept and clean site, if you want a quiet place to relax, take in the views then this is the place for you, great for the dogs with its own enclosed and clean dog walking area, not huge but perfect for that early morning and night "business" Owner John is very friendly and welcoming, and all the services are good and clean, there is even a good supply of wooden blocks to assist in levelling the caravan, that I think is a nice touch, Thank you and we will return

First Class C L

A first class CL - Great location with lovely views and very friendly owner has thought of everything and maintained to a high standard. Although a slight slope could have proved a problem if it is wet John will tow your caravan out if needed. Just watch out for entrance as the cedar trees in directions are not so easy to see over the hedges. Hope to visit again next year.

Just what we hoped

We only spent one night here, it was the first time we had used our new van and the first time we had been away in a caravan. When I booked I checked with the owner that the entrance was straight forward as it was my first time towing etc. And was assured that it was, provided that I took care turning in. It proved to be so, very straight forward directions and dead easy to get onto the site. I wasn't sure what to expect from a CL, but if they're all like this I'm going to enjoy caravanning. The site was well kept, grass well cut and the field itself sloping but straight forward to level up. Water taps easy (there are two) to get at. Chemical disposal about as good as I would imagine it gets. John (owner) had said if he wasn't about, just pick a pitch and sort ourselves out, which we did. After an afternoon in Wells (about a five minute drive) we returned and a bit later John arrived and introduced himself, the site and what was available nearby (and took the £14 fee). The pitches are well spaced, not too sloping and made life easy for a novice. All in all a great introduction to CL life, will go back again.

Delightful

Visited this site twice now and both times have been a delightful experience. The owners are very welcoming and the site is kept to an extremely high standard. On top of this are the views, they are amazing. Will certainly be having a third visit and would not have to think about recommending people.

A great CL

Recently spent 7 nights at this cl and it's a great site to stay, friendly owners, well kept site with great views of the surrounding hillside. The site has a gentle slope but we found no problem leveling a 7.5 metre van as the owner provides a selection of robust wood blocks. The area offers plenty to do and see whether using your car, walking, cycling or by bus that stops 10 mins walk for the site and visits Wells,Cheddar,Weston- super-mare and many lovely villages en route. This is one of many  great cl's that owners put their heart and soul into, offering us places to stay at a reasonable cost.Use them or we lose them.

A delightful spot

We have just returned from seven delightful days at this site.  Easy access off the main road into a peaceful & spacious grass area. The owner met us on arrival & gave us a choice of pitches any of which would have been acceptable. We would have no hesitation in returning to this site or recommending it to others.
