Why stay here ...
Woodlands CL is situated in a small gently sloping valley on the edge of the Mendip Hills in Somerset close to the historic City of Wells.
Surrounded by open countryside and enjoying superb views, we are close to the amenities offered by the City of Wells and the Towns of Glastonbury, Cheddar and Shepton Mallet, which makes our site the perfect base from which to tour beautiful Somerset.
There are many World famous attractions within easy reach, Wookey Hole Caves, Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury Tor, Glastonbury Abbey and Wells Cathedral to name but a few.
A little further away, there are the coastal towns of Weston-Super-Mare, Burnham-On-Sea and Clevedon offering all the fun of the seaside for those who like a bit of a paddle.
For country lovers there are many walks and quiet country lanes to explore. With rugged footpaths and fantastic views from the top of the Mendip Hills to the lower flat ground of the Somerset levels, you will be spoilt for choice as to what to see next.
There is wildlife galore in adjacent fields with Rabbits, Foxes, Deer, Squirrels, Pheasants, Buzzards, Kestrels and Owls to be seen quite regularly. Horses and the usual selection of farm animals can be seen dotted around the local landscape.
With five well spaced pitches with the benefit of individual electric hook ups.
There is a covered service area containing a fresh water point, grey waste disposal, chemical waste disposal and toilet. There is a second fresh water standpipe on the opposite side of the field.
We are sorry but electric cars cannot be charged on this CL. Nearest charging point is Morrisons in Wells.
For dogs (and well behaved owners) there is an enclosed dog walking area on the site and there are several longer walks across nearby fields and at local locations.
We provide free WI-FI access for our visitors and for added security our completely enclosed site is protected by CCTV cameras.
Run by Kathy and Joe Bowers and we like to give a personal and friendly service and there will always be someone on hand to offer help and advise when required.
Sloping site which we would advise require levelling blocks for both Caravans and Motorhomes.

An absolute gem!
Woodlands
Stayed here on a bit of a whim for some well deserved R&R. Stayed for 8 nights. The owners (Kathy and Jo) were so welcoming, informative, friendly and helpful. Everything was so easy to set up on a hardstanding with the the most amazing backdrop..the Mendips. The site was immaculately clean and so well cared for. The toilets and shower was nice and clean. Easy to get on and off the site. A great place for a bit of peace and quiet..with no kids! They even have a dedicated area to walk your dog if you have one. We had e-bikes with us..extremely helpful.with all the hills around! There is so much to see and do in the surrounding area. Not.much else we can can really...just that the site and the owners were perfect. Thanks so much

Lovely peaceful stay

Had a lovely few days here at Woodlands. Owners couldn't have been more helpful. The site is spotless and very well maintained. The added area for the dogs to have some off lead running around was excellent. I would highly recommend this site.
Wonderful site

This is a fabulous site.
We were met by the owner who was most helpful and kind. We were invited to choose our own pitch, and given a pass fob for the front gate, meaning that security was reassuring.
Our instructions on arrival were simple and straightforward.
The site itself is well manicured with deer statues on the lawns. Pitches both hard standing and grass are extremely generous.
It is very quiet, despite being on a main road.
Dogs are welcome and there is a dog run available.
The shower and toilet were of a high standard and immaculately clean (note the singular, there was only one toilet and one shower).
The site is sloping, so ramps and blocks are required.
There are lots of activities locally, and the city of Wells is just a 10 minute drive away, but the site is very rural.
Overall we cannot fault the site, location or the owners.
Highly recommended, we will definitely be back, should we be in the southwest of England.

Very nice well maintained site
Woodlands
Just returned from a short 4 night stay. Chose the site at short notice after being let down by another cl just 24hrs before one of our party was scheduled to arrive.
I didn't give this a full 5 star rating across the board as I think the cost per night is high for a non serviced pitch. Also although the site details state wifi, this is not the case for the CL, which barely got a signal at the closest pitch. This was compounded by very poor mobile signal in the area.
That said the CL was well maintained, clean and pitches were large hardstandings big enough for car, caravan and awning. Owners were very pleasant and friendly greeting us when we arrived
Would I consider a return visit - possible, but would like to see improvements in wifi signal and serviced pitches at the cost per night.

A lovely site with everything you could ever need, the people that run it are lovely and clearly nothing was a problem. Has everything you could want and it’s pristine.
