Marvellous

This is the second time I have stayed at this site and I can't recommend it enough. The access road is a bit tight (one vehicle width only) but even for a relative newby to towing, it is easy to navigate. The owners are warm and welcoming, giving new arrivals a comprehensive folder of useful information about the surrounding area such as where to go, places to visit, walks in the area and where to eat. The space allowed for each pitch is fabulous, hard standing and water/grey waste facilities at each pitch. The grassy areas are well maintained and the two available showers are roomy with great showers. Towel rail keeps your towel warm. The personal touch this year has really impressed me! There was an urgent repair needed on my caravan, which David tried to fix. When he couldn't, he recommended a local repair trader, which he then went on to organise and work with to ensure that the repair was done. All for a cup of coffee and a few quid to the trader. I shall definitely be using this site again when I visit Shrewsbury and I shall recommend the site to anyone who'll listen. Long may this site be run by David and Sarah! See you both soon :)

Lovely quiet site

Stayed here recently for a couple of nights. The access road is very tight and needs to be kept free of vegetation which unfortunately wasn’t the case when we visited. The pitches are all hard standing super pitches which is a bonus but the pitches need weeding. All the grassed areas were in need of a cut, with the access to the bin area needing some hard standing to prevent the area getting boggy. The toilet and shower block was good, just a bit of finishing off required. It sounds like we had a really bad time which we didn’t and we will definitely return but it feels the site’s excellent standards are starting to slip. Really friendly owners who on arrival supply a comprehensive folder with local things to do and eateries.

A good one!

We only booked this site for one night as we were on our way to Wales which was a pity. It is a lovely site, well laid out with excellent facilities. The toilet/shower block is really excellent. The owners were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this site to anyone.

Spot on!

An amazing CL located at the gateway to the Shropshire hills that has everything you would want in a CL and then more. Access is easy along a narrow drive which leads to the CL comprising of six hard standings in a circular formation. Each hard standing has it's own hook up, waste, water supply and picnic bench which is a luxury for a CL. The hard standings are huge which offer a multitude of ways in which to set up. Although there are six pitches only five are used at anyone time which complies to CC rules. The large showers and toilet rooms were kept exceptionally clean and provided first class facilities sometimes not often found at large club sites. Recycling and waste bins are provided but were somewhat overflowing mainly due to the excellent Easter weather and a full CL which led to a deluge of empty beer and wine bottles but that said the bins were kept out of sight and did not lead to any problems. The owners are very friendly and greeted us warmly on arrival with an arrival pack giving details of the area and local places of interest. I cannot speak too highly of this CL and if you after a quite peaceful stay in an area of outstanding natural beauty then this ticks all the boxes.

Beautiful place: lovely people

Although the approach road is narrow it’s straight and well surfaced. We emerged from the hedged lane onto this spacious CL with fine views. Laid out in a wide circle the gravel nardstandings each has a tap and a grey waste disposal drain. And then we were met by such a nice and helpful guy, David, who couldn’t do enough to make our stay enjoyable - and Oh how he succeeded. There are two “semi detached” heated shower rooms/toilets. At the end of the lane a regular bus can be caught in both directions with Shrewsbury 20 minutes away. Time tables are of course provided along with other helpful literature. The attractive village of Pontesbury is a 15/20 minute walk along the main road. It has a variety of eating places which remain untried by us for now. What’s not to like?

CL of the year contender!!!

What a great CL!! Great hardstandings with water and grey waste on each pitch. A picnic bench on each pitch as well. A lovely welcome from Sarah and Dave who also gave a comprehensive file on all local amenities and walks. Superb toilet and shower facilities inclusive of the nightly price. Easy access to the local shops in the village and pub (Nags Head) with great food and dog friendly. Highly recommended

Tremendous

It’s all been said before but this site is amazing. Everything about it appealed to us including the friendly welcome and the great location. The information file provided contained lots of suggestions and we particularly enjoyed the produce of the village bakery. The food served in the Nags Head was tasty and reasonably priced and the pub was an easy 10 minute stroll from the site. We tackled Earls Hill and enjoyed stunning views from the top and there are lots of other walks to take from the site too. The most noteworthy part is the warm welcome received from Sarah and Dave and their friendliness shown throughout our stay.

Fantastic CL

This was our second visit to this CL. Booking is quick and simple and a warm welcome on arrival. As a few of the reviews below have mentioned, Sarah and Dave provide a fantastic folder for each pitch full of walks, local information leaflets and menus for local pubs etc. There is an amazing independant shop in the village which is well worth a visit! The pitches are all hardstanding and each with their own water, electric and grey waste. There are two toilet/shower rooms which are always clean and tidy. The site itself is just short drive out of Shrewsbury and really handy for visiting the Ironbridge area as well as the Welsh border. Powis, Chirk, Attingham and Wightwick (National Trust) are all a short drive away as is the Black Country Museum.

A winner, for sure.

We stayed at Woodville in the middle of June and had a peaceful relaxing holiday with plenty to see and do in the area. The CL has to be one of the best we have ever stayed on. The welcome we got and local information that we were given via a folder was second to none. The facilities were brilliant and the site its self would surpass any club site we have been to. Thank you Dave and Sarah, we will be back. Dave and Jenny
