Caravaning November 2017

Our first experience caravaning in winter. Lovely site with full service pitches so we were very comfortable. Plenty to do in the area...it was mainly walking for us. Enjoyed our stay and the site owners David and Sarah were very pleasant and welcoming.

Nicest and the most friendly CL we have stayed at.

Just stayed here for 7 nights. It has 6 lovely spacious level hardstandings incorporating elec hook up, fresh water tap, and grey waste drain. 2 very nice toilets/wash basins/showers in a newish looking block, as good as anything in a hotel room. David and Sarah provided a large information folder with all you need to know about the surrounding areas offerings and local village pubs and restaurants, bus timetables etc etc.Lots of places to visit. We will make sure we visit this CL again before too long.

Very nice CL good for a night or more.

Fantastic CL. 6 pitches that can be serviced if needed. Great for walks and close to a nice pub and village. Picnic benches for each pitch so it's great if the weather's good. New toilet/shower block that's a nice thing for a CL. No light pollution so on a clear night it's amazing for star gazers and also the sounds of owls is nice. Sarah and Dave are very nice and happy to give lots of local info and have a chat. Would definitely recommend it.

Great CL

Really nice CL, a lot of thought has been put into every aspect. The hardstandings are large and nice and level. Each pitch is well sized has water, electric and a nice touch is the grey waste drain. Sarah was very welcoming and left us a big guide book. We took a bus to Shrewsbury from the stop adjacent to the entrance. There are also pleasant walks from the site and a nice pub within walking distance. We don't usually use the facilities, but these were very well kept with nice shower and toilets. Can't recomend it enough especially if you are looking for a good site with hardstanding.

Surely one of the very best CLs

This has to be described as one of Shropshire's best kept secrets. The site is to be found up a long private lane that takes you well away from the nearest road and into some lovely peaceful country side. The pitches are spacious, each offering electric hook up, a water tap and grey water disposal. There is also the benefit of a toilet block offering loo, vanity sink and shower... one is operational, the other is work in progress that will soon be completed. Sarah and David both came to personally introduce themselves, bringing with them a really useful information pack containing details of the local area attractions, maps, bus services, pubs and restaurants in the local village. Perfect location for access to Shrewsbury, the Shropshire Hills and easy access to mid-Wales too. Try it - you'll not be disappointed. We'll be back soon.

Potentially the BEST CL we have experienced!!

WOW what a little gem this is! The access is really easy and the pitches level and spacious with all facilities on pitch inc waste grey water drainage. Sarah and David are great hosts and have thought about every small detail...the individual welcome packs contained so much local info we didn't have time to read it all LOL!! The showers will be absolutely amazing when finished, although the toilet/sink were useable and the heated towel rail made it all very cosy. We have stayed in 4/5 star hotels with en-suite showers not at good as these. In fact the Caravan Club should visit to see what a nice shower block looks like!! It is a great location for visiting the area inc NT properties and local walks. DO NOT miss visiting the local shop/bakery, the butchers inside is incredible with some of the best meat we have ever purchased and the prices very very reasonable - they will celebrate 100yrs trading in the same family next year so they are definitely getting it right. The bakery in the shop is also fabulous - don't leave without trying the Butter Buns (a cross between a doughnut and a pastry...YUMMY!!!)

Very restful

Up along the track and the site opens out to a well laid out site with water electric and drainage on pitch. Sarah and David made you feel welcome as did Blackie the lab We certainly will try to return, a nice touch was the loan of items of intrest all neatly packaged. We can certainly recommend the Nags Head 15 minuetes walk from the site, the Sunday roast beef was wonderful together with real ale and a good wine selection

wow what a gem of a cl

Thank you Sarah and David for this fantastic site that you have produced for the members to use. such a nice wonderful welcome from the owners upon arrival and a information folder of things to do and walks to take in the area. a lovely fish and chip shop in the village which is well priced and a walk to the Nags head public house is about 10 to 15 minutes stroll away along the public footpath so anybody with wheelchair or buggy this is all ok. Nice little lane from the site to allow the four leg campers to have a little run and from this same lane you can walk up towards Earls hill which give stunning views from the top but beware it is very steep and good footware is a must. for the those that don't fancy this route a footpath follows the hill around the bottom towards a climb to the top. All pitches have its own water tap and greywater waste disposal point. Phone signal was good for us on o2 and Ee and 3g to 4g was also good so if you want to keep up with emails etc. Sarah and David have worked hard to make this site such a restful place to come to and are in the process of nearly completing his and hers site toilet/shower for you to use which should be finished this summer. will we return that's a big yes as it feels like you are part of the family and they are both happy to have a chat with you about anything.

A gem of a site

This has to be our favourite site to date. The tranquil setting and well laid out and maintained site is testament to the hard work of site owners Dave and Sarah. We are always extended the warmest of welcomes and nothing is too much trouble. Fantastic walks from the site mean that you can abandon the car for the weekend and travel everywhere on foot. The local village is a short walk away and has everything you need supply wise plus a chip shop, co-op and three excellent pubs. I cannot recommend this site highly enough and it has certainly set the bar for any future sites we select.

Beautifully Situated

I would echo all the other reviews of this great little site. Initially we drove straight past as neighbours bin at the bottom of the lane obscured the sign, but no problem, just before we got to the village almost a mile on, there was an ideal turning spot and it actually made access to the lane easier. Once there David brought up the very comprehensive guide to the area and later on Sarah called in to say hello. We really enjoyed our week there, did a few walks, including Earls Hill. ( Made it almost to the top but the wind literally blew me over!) Took one of the village walks up the old railway line too. Easy access to Shrewsbury, also visited Telford and Attingham Park NT. If we come to this area again I would certainly choose Woodville to stay and by then maybe the shower and toilet block will be finished! We did see quite a few helicopters from the training school but it didn't impinge at all as they are far enough away for it to be just background noise. Thank you Sarah and David for this lovely CL
