Woodville....Winter visit

This quiet site has 6 large flat serviced H/S pitches with views towards Earl's Hill and the surrounding farmlands. It is access by a single track drive off the A488 Shrewsbury-Bishop's Castle road. One has to follow the directions supplied carefully as there is no CL site sign at the turn-off. There's a bus stop a few yards from the drive entrance with regular services into Shrewsbury in one direction and Bishops Castle/ Stiperstones in the other. There's a footpath that passes up the drive and beside the site and is good for walking one's dog. The comprehensive welcoming pack includes walking local routes and bus time tables as well as other useful tourist information. There are lots of interesting places to visit locally and there's a small co-op and a number of pubs in Pondesbury a mile or so from the site. A very well looked after site with friendly & helpful owners. There may even be the addition of toilet and a shower in the near future. Grand site which we would not hesitate to return to in the future.

Unbelievable !

What a fantastic little site, beautifully laid out hard stands but most surprisingly each pitch has its own water, elec, grey waste disposal, picnic table, and flowers. Sarah and David were excellent hosts informative and friendly. The local village has superb amenities and the site is well situated for Stiperstones and Long Myndd not to mention close to Arscott golf club. We stayed 5 nights and cant wait for an excuse to return.

Great site and very peaceful

We stayed for 4 nights in early August and had the place to ourselves.  This site still looks brand new and includes drainage, water and power at every pitch.  You even get your own picnic table. There was some noise occasionally from a helicopter training school but it wasn't too bad and they were in the distance. Apart from that it was very peaceful and there's are good walks from the site. The information pack provided is comprehensive and very useful.  We had Sunday lunch at the Horsehoes Inn in the village in Pontesbury.  The food was good and it was very reasonably priced.  The drinks were also well priced. Well placed to visit Shrewsbury and to venture into Wales. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Absolutely loved this place.

We spent five nights at this fantastic cl. Such a warm welcome from Sarah and Dave, including a very comprehensive information pack. Woodville is in a great location for visiting  the very scenic county of Shropshire. We'll definitely return.

February 2015

Very friendly owners.  Could not do enough for you.  Information pack given on arrival was second to none.  From public transport to local shops and places to eat.  Sleeping Dragon was quite a hike but worth it when we got up there.  Even if there was snow on the top.

Woodville - we would.

Unsurpassable. The owners are an example of what all CL owners and many wardens should aspire to be. The welcome is warm and informative. A ring binder which includes all local places of interest and shops etc. is provided on arrival. The pitches are all fully serviced and the site is immaculately maintained. The only noise at night is the local owl. Dave (the grumpy one - his description, not mine) is happy to walk his surrounding woods and point out the resident woodpeckers and other wildlife to guests. We spent a most enjoyable 10 days here and we will return.

In some ways I don't want to do this because they may be busy next time we want to stay!

In all aspects this is a site has standards which others should seek to achieve. For a quiet getaway but with a plethora of things to do in the local area and the nicest owners you could wish to meet this is the place to visit. Just not that often please so we can still get in when we want to go.
