Excellent location

A lovely friendly site, centrally located in Fife near Glenlothes. Nice setting in woodland with excellent clean and warm facilities. The large adjacent park offered wonderful walks for our dog. We would highly recommend this site.

Markinch surprise

Wardens really helpful and friendly. A wealth of information given to us about the local area and Scotland in general. Site is spotless and colourful. great location for exploring Edinburgh, especially as train station is within walking distance away. Only had 3 days here but will definitely return.

Good site for regional exploration.

Very helpful, pleasant and hardworking wardens; facilities all very clean (club should provide more wash & shower rooms). Some damp patches on grass pitches (also makes difficulty in cutting grass). Required an extra long electric lead to reach the supply. Some pitches overlooked by houses. Country park next door is a wonderful asset, for locals & the site, hotel there provided an excellent glass of wine. Excellent venue for visiting Amstruther, Crail, Elie & St Andrews.

Hubby and dog happy

This site is a short distance of the shops and amenities. Large beautiful park next door. Hubby loved short walk to pub and dog loved the park. Toilet and showers spotless. Site is a little woody. Hard to find a pitch that Is tree free. Wardens hard working. The flowers around the site are lovely and takes a stroll around markinch and you will find some very old interesting buildings.

Nice well kept site

We stayed at this site for the first time for a weekend, despite living just 40 miles away. Finding the site was no problem with easy access. The wardens were very friendly and helpful. We found a large level hardstanding pitch on the elevated part of the site which was near the toilet block and service point. I didn't fancy being in any of the pitches near the flats which over look that part of the site, but where we were was fine. some of the other pitches were nice but not so level for a motorhome. The site is well laid out with very mature trees and flower containers which were very nice. The toilet, shower facilities are excellent and I always found them immaculately clean. As we had our 13 week old puppy the Balbirnie Park estate next door was excellent for walking dogs, with miles of paths and woodland trails. I am not a golf fan but part of the estate is a nice golf course. A 5 minute walk takes you into Markinch where there are a couple of good supermarkets a bakery and cafe and pubs, restaurants. We did not venture further but mostly liked walking in the large estate park. We would return some time perhaps.

Not enough time

Visited this site 5 yrs ago it was a bit run down, this time stayed 4 nights what a change, its turned into a secret gem of a site, well run very clean, toilets I think the best in the club! Sam and Andy total workaholics with a great attitude , they have time to talk to you daily and never stopped working the site is a credit to them. Lots of walks around the site we didn't use the car once, good bakers and spar near by. Will certainly be back with our dog for more walks. Thanks for a relaxing break!

Everything close by

Edge of Markinch with good pubs, cafes, supermarkets, railway station, buses, all close walking distance. Lovely setting next to golf course, country park, quality hotel. Some nice pitches in a leafy setting but some less attractively sited. Shower/toilet blocks facilities clean and well, presented. Very minor gripe due to lack of wifi and poor TV signal. Wouldn't stop us revisiting.Plenty to do in the immediate vicinity. Liked it and will revisit.
