Too many signs and obstacles!

We stayed here for 2 nights in March 2017. Staff were very friendly and helpful as you would expect. Our motorhome is 7.9 metres and we tow a smart car on a trailer. First problem - the Motorhome Service Point is a drive in / reverse out set up so no good for us. We had to find a pitch, unhitch our car trailer and drive back to the service point. Same issue on leaving when disposing of grey water. In addition we found driving round the site full of needless obstacles - little white plastic chainlink fences (pointless) set TOO CLOSE to roads and TOO MANY No Entry/One way/5MPH/ signs again far too close too the site roadways - it gave the site a cluttered look and served little useful purpose. We half expected to see garden gnomes! Other obstacles included wooden garden tubs set just where you need to turn! It may be ok for the wardens in their little tractors but not when you have a large motorhome and trailer. In addition there are numerous trees so the man made obstacles should be restricted in our view. The site has a cramped feel and it was not busy. There is some road noise and the site is beside a housing estate on one side and a lovely park on the other. Try the Balbirnie Bistro - a short 10 minute walk in Balbirnie Park for a nice meal with no drink/driving issues. So in conclusion - not really suitable for a large rig, and too many needless little plastic fences.

Winter weekend

First visit to this site and really impressed. Was looking for a little winter weekend not to far from home. The site did not disappoint. Nice friendly welcome and speedy check in, which was ideal as it was getting dark. Nice large hard standing pitches, good space between caravans, excellent toilet block and spotless.  Great woodland setting would have you think you were mikes from anywhere, but in reality you are very close to shops etc. Great woodland walks adjacent the site and nice location for exploring. Would recommend to anyone.

Top marks.

A superb site, well located for exploring the area, and even though busy, proved to be spotless, quiet and enjoyable. Full marks too for the wardens - could not have been friendlier or more helpful. A very pleasant and welcome introduction to Caravan Club UK sites for our Aussie cousin and his good lady on their first UK motorhome tour. John & Sharon K.

Gem in the trees

Our first visit to this site and we most certainly will be back. Lovely location, pitch in the trees was just great and near to the toilet block as I have a walking problem. The wardens were wonderful very hardworking and helpful. We really enjoyed our short stay here and look forward to a return visit next year.

Four hundred acres of parkland for dog lovers nearby fantastic walks great train and bus services wonderful eating places in Markinch two minutes walk away and lovely people. Beautifully maintained by the friendly wardens even clearing the fallen leaves on a daily basis. Thank you for a great break.

Midweek Break

We had a midweek break at Balbirnie Park to try out our new caravan. This site is just over 10 miles from home but it felt like we were really much further away. We love the layout of the site with its small cul-de-sac areas set amongst well established trees. If you want all day sun then this is not the site for you. Toilets were spotless and the Wardens had put a lot of effort into their ftubs of flowers and herbs. Dog owners will like Balbirnie Park as there is a massive park right next door where you can freely exercise your dogs and yourself! We do it play golf but the course is apparently a good one. Markinch has all the facilities you need shops, take away, pubs etc. And Gllenrothes is about a 5 minute drive away where you will find Morrisons,Asda and Aldi supermarkets as well as the Kingdom Shopping Centre. The site is well situated for travelling to St. Andrews, Edinburgh and Dundee.Bus stops just outside the site and a railway station in Markinch. We will be back next year, and we love our new caravan!

Excellent

Great site with superb faciluties & location. Nearby golf clubhouse does a great breakfast. On downs are no wi-fi and gravel not compavted enough so manouvering with a mover quite difficult. Great wardens and superb local shop - clean, well stocked & butteties a must!

Only lacking internet

Wonderful facilities, clean and up to date. This was our second visit as we liked the site a lot the first time. My only disappointment was that we were told they would have internet by the end of the summer and they do not. Site is with in walking of train and bus so easy to go to Edinburgh for the day.

Great CC Site, worth a visit.

Just got back from the site, had a great 4 days there, even enjoyed the antics of the squirrels. The staff are really friendly & helpful, will definitely stay at the site next time we are in the area. The park next to the site is great for walking the dogs, even suitable for riding mountain bike "only slowly though".
