Disappointing

Rather disappointing. Whilst the campsite info makes much of its proximity to the A1, it totally fails to mention that the top part is only 50 yards from the main East Coast Main Line railway! Fine if you're into trainspotting maybe, not so for everyone else. And when you've got an anxious dog it's a bit of a recipe for disaster....... We were slightly late in arriving and found the choice of suitably sized pitches very limited. A number of the larger pitches further from the railway were coned off, we were told “for training” the next day. Also the most expensive site we stayed on during our trip - £62 for two nights. We'd planned to stay for 2 nights but left after one as our dog was becoming increasingly distressed each time a train went past. The wardens did offer me an alternative pitch but we felt it better for the dog (and other campers) to move on. Shame as we’d wanted to explore Berwick, particularly the Lowry Trail

Motor homer.

Disappointed the site feels like its in the middle of an estate. Busy main train line directly behind the site. Really do not like been woken on holiday at 6.00am. Berwick is dreary dull and run down. The site was clean well run pleasant staff.

Beautifully Maintained Site Wonderful Wardens and Scenic Location

A wonderfully presented site. Wardens are extremely helpful, welcoming and hard working. They set standards and clearly take a pride in their role. Communal facilities clean and plenty of information available to explore area on foot, bike, train or bus. Nearby beach and scenic walk to North Berwick. a fantastic location. Look forward to returning.

Scenic site

This site was very scenic with lovely views over spitall beach. On arrival the staff were very helpful and advised which 4 remaining pitches would accommodate our motorhome due to the size.Facilities were clean and presentable although the site is very narrow especially at the service points so patience can be required. Berwick upon Tweed is close enough by to walk to and spitall beach is excellent for dogs as is the nearby pub The Albion where the staff spoil them with lots of treats and fuss. Will definitely be back to visit again

Lovely stay at a nice site. Pleasantly surprised by this site, lovely views over Berwick and nice walks nearby.

Perfect location for touring the North of England and good access to the A1. £5 for a taxi into Berwick if you don’t fancy the walk. The ramparts around Berwick make a great stroll but the town centre, like many these days, is a bit sad. Limoncello Italian restaurant was fabulous and very good value. St Abbs Head is a must to visit nearby.

Disappointed on selecting my pitch,

Great site, but disappointed on how my choice was limited , due to cones all over the site, Was the third arrival, arrived just after 1pm, to which we were only given the choice out of 4 pitches, although many of the sites had cones on empty pitches. Was advised first come first serve, to what I thought was rather contradicting themselves, …….,because although a lot of arrivals came in the next day, and these coned pitches became available with superb views. However I was only allowed to choose from 4.? It very much in my view looked these pitches were reserved for the next day arrivals, how fair was that? The wardens need to review the fairness , as it certainly did not come across first come first served.. Although I did not allow this to spoil my stay, it was frustrating that my site was behind trees and the majority of the coned pitches had terrific views, this policy should be reviewed, within the site, as I felt it looks either the wardens are incompetent of being fair, or they are making reservations for their selected few. One way or another it’s not a fair system…😡

Nice location but the site needs better planning

We stayed at Sea View whilst on our Northumberland tour. Whilst the staff were lovely and the site has the usual great cleanliness we were disappointed on two accounts not experienced at other Caravan and Motorhome sites. Both Motorhome service points don’t allow access for other Motorhomes to pass by when filling or emptying water which led to a long que of Vehicles unable to get passed. We were on pitch 69 and had a lot of large vehicles having to do three point turns to get back after filling. Also the pitch sizes are rather small. Our van is 6.6metres and we had trouble finding an adequate pitch to fit the Motorhome.

staff amazing

this is our 2nd visit to Berwick sea view and we were not disappointed to return the Staff we so friendly and when they found out my wife had a disability the provided us with a pitch very close to the facilities block so she didn't have far to walk , they even came and checked in on us to ensure we were ok and settled in, its the little touches like this that make a massive difference to people and this certainly made a difference to us, and we were very grateful for it. the site its self was spotless and the facilities very good and it is ideal for buses from just outside and its a nice little walk into Spittal or Berwick and if your beach loves the beach is only a 10 minute easy walk away. Thank you again to all the staff

Great sea views

Stayed here for 2 nights in early September 2021 on our Motorhome. This is a lovely site with most pitches having a sea view. It's about a mile walk into Berwick upon Tweed along a quiet riverside/estuary road and over a pretty bridge. The near by village of Spittal has an excellent beach for dog walks (approx 1/2 mile to get onto the beach). There are plenty of walks nearby, and 1/2 a mile a way there is a small retail park with an M&S FoodHall and usefully for us an Argos (as our toaster broke). The site staff were very friendly and helpful, and the facilities were well kept.

Relaxing stay on a lovely site

A delightful site which we thoroughly enjoyed. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly. The grass is immaculate, cut daily; showers clean, hot and draft free at all times of day; bins are emptied regularly. There is a train line at the back of the site but it didn’t bother us. Being close to the beach was a big positive as we were able to walk from the site to the beach quite easily and there within 10 minutes. Downhill on the way and uphill on the way back which may be a struggle for some. There is a bus stop nearby but the town is walkable although we didn’t actually walk it. Enjoyed exploring the area including St. Abbs, Eyemouth, Holy Island, Barmouth and Kelso among others. Would not hesitate to return.
