Fantastic site!

We used this site as an overnight stop to catch the Dover to Calais ferry on August 1st. Operation Stack was in operation and so we were worried about a late arrival as there aren't any facilities for it. The wardens couldn't have been more helpful, allayed my worries and we had a contingency plan if we were late. They even accepted a parcel that I had had to order and needed to go abroad with! Definitely recommend the site and wardens!

Tunnel Stop-over

We used this site once again as an overnight stopover for the Channel Tunnel. The pitch this year was a bit tricky to reverse into - made worse by torrential rain! Generally quiet, although someone was inconsiderate at 3am with leaving a very noisy engine running  for a long time before setting off. We will, however, be using this site again as it's ideally positioned for the ports.

Overnight Stay in July

Stayed here overnight on our way out to France and would not hesitate to use this site again. There was a lovely friendly team of wardens and we were pitched really near to the dog walk which was brilliant given that it was pouring with rain at the time! All facilities on site were as expected from a CC site so we were very pleased we'd chosen this option.

Handy stay over before traveling to Europe.

When travelling to Europe we normally use Black Horse Farm Club Site. As always Black Horse seem to get marvellous wardens. This year was the same again, we used it going out and coming in from Spain. They were friendly and even came and saw me in regard to my daughter having to cancel when she came of the boat, due to major problem at home on her husbands side. The warden was even able to refund my daughter the sight fee. Well done the Wardens and The Caravan Club!

Ferry pitches are diabolical and much too noisy due to road

We booked the site so we could catch an early ferry from dover. What a horrendous and dangerous mistake. We were put on pitch 11 which is a ferry pitch by the road and behind the hedge which is next to the entrance. Firstly the pitches do not let each caravan stay hitched which would make sense for a ferry pitch. We had to do some considerable manoeuvring which wasn't fun to undo at 0500. Then we were at the back and had to go past everyone else who was going after us. And we had the noise of those few going out before us going out the gate which was through the hedge. But the massive and terminal failing of this site's ferry pitches which is totally unrecoverable is that they are next to the road which is notionally a 40 limit but from 1600 to 0200 turns into an unlimited speed rat run for every boy racer in Kent and every heavy truck going to a ferry. The noise was quite indescribable. We didn't sleep a wink and were frankly semi conscious until we got to Dover for a coffee. Our first day of holiday has been ruined by having to cancel all activity to recover sleep. If you value your sleep go somewhere else or check into a hotel. Avoid the ferry pitches

Diapointed

Have stayed at this park before have and always been pleased but I was disappointed this time I booked an overnight stay in march for one night in August and asked for a none ferry pitch as we were coming in from France and wanted a good nights sleep before traveling on home we were put on a ferry pitch near the entrance facing the water point my caravan is just under 8 meters and it was difficult to get on even one of the wardens commented on the fact that it must of been a tight squeeze to get on. When I asked why I was put on a ferry pitch I was told by one of the wardens that she was not on site yester day when bookings were taken I explained I had booked in March she said they were very busy and had to move people about to get them on to ad insult to injury I was telephoned by the site the day before in France asking me if I was still coming my friend was who was with me was sent a tex asking him to ring the site when he did he was asked if he was still coming those calls cost us more money there was quite a few none members on the site I am beginning to wonder what is the point of being a member if you book in advance and are moved to get none members on.

Excellent Stopover

Have stayed at this site for a stopover en route to and from the channel tunnel.  Staff really helpful and efficient with a quick check in. Ferry pitches same standard as other pitches but those planning an early departure seem to be kept at the front of the site so as not to disturb others too much. One of the best dog walks have seen on club sites. Lots of rabbits on site, lovely to see but drive the dogs mad! Will definitely be back.

Enjoyable stay

A nice site with bus stop outside so easy to get to Folkestone and Canterbury. Most people were there for a stopover. We had five nights and there is plenty to see in the area. Paid for wifi but it never really worked so that was a minus. Overall it is a good site and we enjoyed our stay.

Great stop for cross channel travellers

I have stayed at Blackhorse site on a number of occasions.  The ferry pitches are great for anyone needing an overnight stay either before or after crossing the channel. The facilities for the 'ferry pitches' are of the same high standard as other caravan club sites. I found the staff to be particularly pleasant, friendly and helpful.

First time visitors

As it was our first visit to the Black horse site we didn't really know what to expect, and unlike most of the visitors we stayed for the week, there is a lot of short term stop overs which is understandable if you are going to the continent as its so close to Dover and the Tunnel. The staff are friendly and approachable and do their best to help with all enquiries. The site itself is well laid out with plenty of room for all types of outfit, the facilities are well maintained but standards drop a bit during peak times especially in the male block. The only thing I really do have a problem with is that some of the visitors found the 5mph speed limit far to slow for them and they tried to achieve the national speed limit, very concerning with small children running around. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the sights in and around the local area
