Excellent staff

I submitted a review on this site recently but having visited other sites and read reviews left about them and the hard working and excellent staff on those sites I have to say that none, in my opinion, were as friendly, hard working and efficient as those on this site

The Showers-

This is an on-going bugbear with me. The cleanliness of the showers deteriorate with each user. Whatever is left behind does not get clean by wiping the floor with a plastic blade. The blade are like 'Izal' toilet paper, they just spread whatever is there. Meanwhile the tiles just get grubbier and grubbier. Come on Caravan Club, you have had such high standards in the past, but you are being very neglectful about the cleanliness of the showers. Anybody else think like me?

A Site with a View

A spacious site with views, new landscaping and good sized pitches many of which are serviced. There is some background noise which can be partly avoided by pitching near the camping area. This is a good site for families with a big playing field, woods, water and just across the woodland bridge a mini assault course. Also an excellent dog walk, dog/cycle wash and an easy use grid for motorhome waste water. Early birds get the croissants and rolls in the well stocked shop. Local walks are great. The small "Around and About Brecon" map from the office or Brecon tourism in town shows all the local routes easily reached from the site including the Taff Trail and Usk Walks.. It's only a few minutes walk down from the site to the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, then a half an hour stroll into Brecon one way or the Brynich Lock in the other. On reaching Brecon there is a good cafe at the the theatre (another nearby) and boat hire. There are nearby beautiful walks along the Usk river too.The woodland and lane walk from the site to the dog friendly Three Horseshoes pub is about 15 minutes. An enjoyable walk to a modern pub with good food.  Overall a site worth visiting with plenty to do in the area on foot, cycling or by car.

marvelous

Great location and has views to the becons. Had a problem with the caravan but the wardens were able to help with phone numbers. Mike the repair guy arrived on the Sat and sorted it for us. Very clean and managed grounds.

Good weather and good walking

Despite one wet day walking was excellent with glorious sunshine, snow and frost.  As always, exceptionally clean facilities. A huge disappointment for us is that pitches 107 - 109 are now for tents - these were superb caravan pitches away from the main hustle and bustle.

BACK AGAIN

We have visited this site several times and it never ceases to please.  It is a great spot with super clean facilities and welcoming helpful wardens.  The location is super if you want to be in the country side and ideal for outdoor pursuits.   We love the site and will definitely go again.  To wake up and see the snow on the mountains was super and I cannot stress how beautifully clean the facilities are.  The only draw back so far as we can say is the Army Range which can be a little noisy but easily tolerated.

Excellent facilities

We have been tent camping for over 30 years in the UK and Europe but this was our first time as caravaners.  In all that time we have never seen such excellent washroom facilities!  A good site for exploring the area and the nearby pub served a brilliant Sunday lunch.  Staff were very pleasant and helpful.  We were sited near the playing field so away from the A40 and very quiet but I imagine the noise could have been a problem on pitches at the bottom end of the site.

Good views and walks

Large site but hedges separating the pitches make it seem a lot smaller. As others have mentioned canal walk into Brecon takes about 20 minutes, an alternative, you can walk along the canal away from Brecon and there is a signposted walk to your left which takes you along and closer to the bank of the river obviously t takes longer.

Good base for the Beacons

Excellent all round site. Facilities are first class. Gentle canalside walk/ cycle into Brecon along the canal. A great centre to explore the wonderful Brecon Beacons or the Brecon to Monmouth canal. However if you dont have your own transport the buses though can be spasmodic and non existent on a Sunday, so weekdays are best. A walkers bus circulating around the main walking sites would be ideal. The sigposted walk to the pub is worth it for the views of PenyFan, Cribyn and Corn Du alone.

Lovely Site

Had a great week at Brecon. Spotless site, lovely wardens, great pitch with plenty of space. My son loved the play field which was beautifully kept and the stream at the side of the site in a wooded area gave him hours of fun and me loads of washing :-). Next door to the site is a large soft play barn which was a great refuge when the weather isn't great serving coffees and a limited menu. Didn't eat there so can't comment. £5 for my ten year old but it wore him out so didn't mind. The shower block near reception appeared to be brand new and lovely and warm, always immaculate. Fantastic site shop with great selection of food, toiletries etc and lots if caravan 'bits'. Five minute walk through the wooded lane to a fab pub serving really great food. Highly recommend but need to book as it gets busy.  Ten minute walk along the canal into Brecon. Not much there but a nice walk. Two supermarkets 5 mins drive away. Beautiful setting. Very easy approach as right next to A40 and that's the only negative I have but as I'd read other reviews we were aware of it before we booked. Would happily return. Pitches near play field were less noisy.
