Nice Place for all Sorts of Activities

Went to Bridlington as it is one of the few sites open all year. Not disappointed either. A 4-hour drive from Barrow in Furness via M62 (with all the attendant snow on Saddleworth and Rushworth Moors). Nice drive though, especially from Goole up to Bridlington. Sat-nav directions weren't great as we got closer, as it routed us via Flamborough and not Marton. Still, we saw more of the countryside that way?? Site was very clean, and is going to be fairly big once they get all the ongoing works completed. Good luck with that, and we will see the results in August when we return. Local village pub (The Martonian), only 15 mins walk, serves up great food at very affordable prices, with "specials" on nearly every night. Bus stops outside camp gates see busses (510) to Bridlington and Flamborough. Only drawback is that the last bus back from Bridlington is 6.25 pm. That may improve as the holiday season gets underway. A lot of places in Bridlington were closed for the off-season, but should be open for Easter. All in all, a very pleasant break

Great site handy for the coast

Well as usual the site did not dissapoint, we usually stay for a long weekend and have come here a great many times well a couple of times a year from when it opened. The work onsite to extend it is well progressed and to be honest with you is going to improve this site no end with a further 81 pitches including 10 more service pitches, it should be ready in March according to the Wardens. The Wardens are very pleasant and helpful. The toilet blocks and ablutions are as always very clean and warm. My only gripe really is the dog walk, which should be avoided at the current time as it is waterlogged and sodden. Lots of lovely places to see around the area, Sewerby hall is only a short walk away as is Danes dyke.

small winter break

Just thought I would put a posting about this site ,the last time we came was when it had just being opened ,and the facilities and everything is the same (very good) .Clean and tidy ,and the toilet blocks were spot on with piped music and under floor heating in the shower section. The motorhome service point was spot on and taps were on the same side as my van ,which was great as when you are just arriving for the 1st time ,no reversing etc or extended hose pipes to fill up . The site is undergoing some extension work ,which didn't bother us ,as we were away from the it, but you would expect that anyway with it being a weekend and no working . You can walk into Sewerby village in 30 mins ,but its dark on the path in January at night ,so a torch is a must . we had a nice meal on one of there special theme nights ,which was a guess ale and food at the Ship inn (look on there internet site to find out the dates). We came in a motorhome ,so we relied on our trusted walking gear to get us about ,but there is a bus service number 510 which takes you into Bridlington or Flamborough if you feel you need it,right outside the site There is a small farm shop near by ,which you can easily walk to ,which sells its own produce and a coffee shop overall this site is well layed out with hard standings and some service pitches and is ideally placed for the east coast ,with the main attractions at Bridlington, Scarbourgh, Filey.

First visit won't be our Last

We came to stay here for a cold January weekend to give our motorhome a run out and warm through. We hadn't stayed here before, but we will definitely return. The site is very well looked after, the facilities block is really clean and warm (essential in January), the pitches are a good size and ours was really level. Can't vouch for all the others as we only used the one, but they all look pretty much the same. The site is convenient for Flamborough, Danes Dyke, Sewerby, Bridlington and Filey. A little further afield is Scarborough. There is work going on at the site at the moment as they are extending the number of pitches. The workmen really did not intrude on our break, and there was almost no noise from them. It did not detract at all from our enjoyment, and they are not spoiling the look of the site, as they are only working in one area. I have only given a 3 for child friendly, not because I didn't think it suitable, but because I have no idea what a parent would define as a child friendly site, having never had any. There seems to be a play area but we did not look at it as we do not need to, and there are places nearby that I am sure children would enjoy. The staff that we met were really lovely, and went out of their way to make us welcome and settled. We have a large motorhome, and they gave us good advice about which pitch would be easiest for us to use. All round, considering that we just wanted to boost our batteries and air out the motorhome, this was a really enjoyable weekend, and we will definitely be coming back.

Brilliant Brid with Builders on tap

We've been to Bridlington site on a number of occasions every time it's been brilliant and i'm sure will be again in the future. Everything arrival and pre arrival was as expected, even the pre warnings about the building improvement works were everywhere. This we took on the chin and were happy to still go even though the improvements were ongoing. Little did we realise that the pitches that we picked as we were with another unit were to be right next to where the builders were going to be bright and early at 08:17hrs warming up their dumper truck and chatting with creative language about the night before. I am sure that the site staff don't have a plan of where and when the builders will be hence i didn't complain to them , lets be fair where would we have gone for the one night we had left. The site is great and we will go back but not until the building work is done it's unfortunately pot luck on where you pitch , we were unlucky and with all this in mind to me it's not worth the full price pitch fees particularly in January.maybe something for the club to look at.

NEW YEARS DISSAPOINTMENT

HI as this is one of our favorite sites it is a shame we have to pass on the following comments,we have stayed at this site every new year and other times of the year for the last 5 years and have always enjoyed the stay. We are normally their between the 28th of dec to the 2nd of jan and like many others have enjoyed the new years eve party, which in the past has been put on by the outgoing and incoming wardens also people who attended the party brought food and drink to share with all the other people who were their this has been sadly missed this year . We were told on the phone yes a do of sorts will be on but on arrival we were told it was to be just a drink and nibbles in the reception only so we did not bother. We were told by other members a day or so later that it ended up in the back rooms but there was no details given to the people who were staying which was disappointing also we have never seen empty pitches before at this sight which tells its own story and a lack of atmosphere was present i might add that the work being done at the sight was not a problem at all well done to the club and site for that hopeful of a better time next new year....

November 2017

The first time we stayed on this site and was delighted. Only stayed for 2 nights due to work commitments but already booked again for Feb. The building was not a problem to us and it was well controlled and away from the part of the site open to vans. The toilet/shower block was 1st class and extremely clean. The indoor pot wash area was also clean and very warm. Very welcoming site which I would recommend to anyone wishing for a superb run site on the East coast.

Favourite toilet block !

We stayed here for five nights early December. Great easy access onto site, no problem with the building work which is all contained away from the open site and the toilet block. I really must compliment you on the toilet block, from the Radio 2 background, to the ultra clean toilets and showers, and best of all the underfloor heating in the showers - especially during the freezing cold weather we experienced. OK we've only been caravanning since June this year but this was site number 14, and by far our favourite for the facilities. Location is excellent, easy walk to Sewerby Hall where there's a lovely little Zoo, the house was shut during the week, but then easy to get onto the cliff walk into Bridlington. We will definitely be back here in the near future.

Nice and Snug in the Cold

Arrived during a very cold week and surprised to see so many other units on the site. A warm welcome in reception and we were quickly set up. Despite the building works going on this was a very peaceful stay and a chance to recharge our batteries ahead of the festive season. As always the facilities were outstanding, well maintained and more than adequate, with the additional pitches coming on line next year the current facilities could struggle in the height of summer if no other facilities have been built. The bus stops directly outside the site, Bridlington in one direction and Flamborough Head the other. We went into Bridlington, unfortunately it was closed, but only to be expected in December, not the best shopping centre but a working harbour and some clear views along the coastline. We have not stayed on any club site that has attracted negative comment and this site is no different, well done to the wardens in keeping the site safe throughout the cold snap and your efforts and hard work is very much appreciated.
