Great staff and facilities

Our welcome was friendly and they accommodated all our needs. The pitch was large and the area around it tidy and well tended to. The WC/shower block were so warm and clean, it was November so I was thinking of being cold after a shower but it was so warm!!  There were no restrictions for coming in late as long as you are respectful of others.  All in all, this site is ran by very experienced and caring staff.  We are definitely going back.

Great location

A secluded site  but which is so handy for getting into Brighton. We used the bus which is only a short walk away and which departs every 6-10 minutes and the last bus back is after 1pm! The facilities are very clean and well maintained. The only thing missing are basic provisions (eg milk, bread etc).

lovely site

spent four days in november and must say that this is an excellent site, very clean well positioned, and easy to find. Wardens very helpful and friendly. Would have no hesitation on recommending.

Visit to Brighton site October 2015

Brighton site is in a good position to visit the town centre of Brighton. There is a fairly short walk to the marina, or the cliff top, and buses can be taken into town from there. We were lucky, we got off the bus near The Lanes, and found a great bagel place to have coffee and a snack. There seems to be a lot of good places in that area to have anything from breakfast, lunch to evening meals. There are also plenty of good places on the sea front, including a place which had won a Food Programme Award, the kipper rolls were good, and the owners were friendly. Near the campsite is a sports area, and a golf course, and there was a lot of golf, football and rugby going on when we were there. Lots of dog walking nearby if you have an active dog. We walked out towards the downs from the site, and it is possible to walk a long way along footpaths away from the roads. The site itself is good, the facilities are immaculate. It seemed a bit cramped, and a lot of cars were driving around the site to their pitches. The evening was not as quiet as many other sites we have visited. We did not find the nearby supermarkets this time, they are not close to the site. But we enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again next year.

Blustery Brighton

Despite gale force winds and rain, I was amazed how popular the Brighton site is. It's a large site with pitches on various levels. The site is pretty, spacious and very clean. The showers and toilet block were spotless . Brighton itself, despite a 2 mile bracing walk along the sea front, still has a lovely atmosphere and has the promise of a lively, fun filled holiday spot. I like Brighton, the site and we will return.

Pleasant Stay

A pleasant stay for 3 nights in November. Facilities are excellent with lovely showers although the cubicles are rather cramped. Very well kept site. No dog walk on site and plenty of notices around forbidding dogs walking in particular areas. We did find a place near the site for short walks and also found a way up onto the downs where there is excellent dog walking. Staff very pleasant although they had only been there two days and were only staying until end December so they knew nothing and had no real interest in learning about the surrounds. They said look at information boards which did not have walking routes or bus timetables/location. Just a 20 minute walk to marina which had great restaurants, a little shopping but no real atmosphere and rather a concrete appearance on entry. Fish and chip van on Thursday was cancelled at last moment so it was as well that we decided late to eat at the marina lunchtime. Would we go back - possibly.

Worth it

The staff were great. The facilities were refurbished since our last visit. We walked to Brighton which was invigorating and back. We know the marina which is also worth a visit. A great trip.

Last trip of year

Overall very clean well kept site, even though never used toilet or shower blocks, Park for kids was great. Only low point was lack of willingness to help me hook up on Sunday from wardens, as it was just myself and my 6yr son, and I don't have a mover. As it was my son ended up being a good help. Will go back but only in winter months as all hardstanding.

Lovely spot

Stayed on the Brighton CC site for two nights 6th and 7th November. Very friendly and well run site in close proximity to Brighton centre. It took us about 45mins to walk to the town at a fairly stiff pace, but there are local buses nearby if you prefer. The access road doesn't have any pathways and it quite busy with traffic as there are a lot of sports areas close by, so caution is needed. The Marina Village is a bit over rated in my opinion, ok for eating but don't go there expecting a lot of shops. We had a great stay on site, the facilities are clean and warm. The wardens are really friendly and run the site in a relaxed but efficient manner. Shame one of my leisure batteries decided to burn out - we kept wondering where the smell of rotten eggs was coming from!! All in all a great stay and definitely a site we would return to.

five days in November

Ideal for exploring Brighton and the south downs.   We especially liked being able to walk to a bus stop and catch the (very frequent) bus into town at any time of day or night.   Lidl and Co-op stores just by the bus stop were convenient for picking up supplies.
