wonderful cherry hinton

stayed 23rd to 27th May on this quirky, beautiful site.As usual the wardens were welcoming and helpful. Facilities to usual club standards and perfect location for all the local area has to offer. The available space (without being claustrophobic) may not suit active families with children, hence the middle score in this rating. The bus route into Cambridge was brilliant especially for someone like me who has not been on a bus for years. A visit to the University Botanic gardens is a must as the area offers beauty, peace and calm in the middle of the city. We had a wonderful break and are intending to return to see the site and area in all it's autumn glory.

Friendly wardens & lovely site

Had a lovely stay at cherry hinton the wardens were extremely obliging and friendly, gave my husband a tip about his breakaway cable , we had to leave a day early sadly but would return the site and facilities were spotless. And the landscape very unusual as its an old quarry , lovely stay thankyou :)

Excellent Stay

Loved this site and will visit again.  Site was easy to find, the wardens were very friendly, helpful and informative, the sanitary block was very very clean. There is a bus stop 3 minutes walk down the road and it takes about 20 minutes to get into the centre of Cambridge.  There is an excellent pub next to the bus top. We got a taxi into Granchester for £11.50 and then walked into Cambridge (2 miles) and caught the bus home.

Great little site

Many years since we'd visited Cherry Hinton, but we weren't disappointed. Great facilities block, very clean. Some pitches are a bit tight, but the site has character and therefore gets full marks from me.

mid April visit

The site was easy to find and layout, location of services etc was good. I did not find, however, that the welcome from the warden was very good. I booked by phone and was made to feel that I was causing an inconvenience. On arrival when I asked to book for a further 2 nights , a sigh underlined this. I was only able to get one more night and when we left on the Friday mid morning it was not with a wish to hurry back.

Good choice for visiting Cambridge

This is a very clean site. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Shops, cafe and pubs within easy walking distance, as are the bus stops to get into Cambridge centre. Will definitely be back.

Great visit to Cambridge

Smallish site and some of the pitches look a little cramped. Roadways are narrow and there is a surprising amount of traffic using Lime Kiln Road - definitely need to take care when exiting site either by car or on foot. Wardens deserve six green ticks! Location is everything and as others have said, the bus service is great and so is the Robin Hood pub. Site is quiet at night so a good night's sleep. Definitely recommended.

Excellent

This is a really well run and clean site, the wardens were excellent. Access to Cambridge is an easy 10 minute walk to the bus stop and buses run every 10 minutes. The Robin Hood pub is across the road from the bus stop and is worth a visit. Duxford imperial war museum is also worth a visit and is a 15 minute drive from the site.

Excellent location for Cambridge and local sight-seeing

Very peaceful site, mainly older couples. Great facilities, never had to queue. Our pitch was one with awning and had plenty of space, although I did notice the blue peg pitches were more tightly spaced.  Short stroll to the bus stop and the local pub offered a good value breakfast! Would recommend to anyone who would like to explore the area. Not much for young kids on the site but local park, about a mile away, offered lots of green space.
