Pitch 42

We are big fans of this site BUT pitch 42 is an insult. We were instructed to park right up to the marker peg so as not to obstruct pitch 43. This put us right next to a fence with little scope for outside relaxation if the weather had allowed. We were told it was the last pitch available, it may well of been in the no awning class, but there was at least one awning pitch not used that night. I would suggest greater flexibility between awning and non awning pitches, as well as removing pitch 42, encorporating the space into pitch 43.

Has everything you need - but don't get there before 1300

Very clean and well maintained site. Plenty of room between pitches , we were on hard standing and flat /well kept. Very good shower block - even had BBC radio 2 playing throughout. We struggled to get good TV reception , but noticed others had no problems. Good pub close by , and handy bus stop to take you into Cambridge. Only issue was we turned up at around 1145 but couldn't get to our site till 1300 , think Wardens could have been more lenient seeing as not many on site at the time.

IDEAL FOR CAMBRIDDGE

We tend to use our motorhome as a base for visiting places we want to see. Cherry Hinton is ideal for this: bus stops nearby; an interesting nature reserve; shops within walking distance. The museums in Cambridge are terrific; some superb eating places for lunch or dinner. Ideal for families perhaps with older children, and curious adults with energy for a full day of museums.

Home from home

I visit this site so often it's like coming home! The wardens are absolutely wonderful, you couldn't find a more friendly and helpful couple. The site, including the facilities, is spotless and there's a good selection of pitches with some being more secluded and other more sociable! Perfect location for visiting Cambridge but also very close to the A14 and M11 for trips further afield.

Easter Break

Having used this site for many years there is plenty to do by visiting Cambridge local bus departs from just down the road next to the Robin Hood Pub which also offers reasonable priced meals all served hot with pretty good service. Other local attractions are Anglesey Abbey and Gardens and Lode Mill for your local ground flour also near by is Wicken Fen a good day out for family's.Local chalk pit which is just outside the club site which is now a nature reserve ideal place for taking the dog for a walk and for children to let of steam whilst we were on site a couple of muntjac deer were spotted near the wardens office .Storm Kate didn't seem to cause the site any problems .

What a Great Site

This was our second time visiting this site, and won't be our last. The Staff are delightful, and very very helpful, the site is kept immaculate, and is peaceful, and quiet a fair distance off the road. It has to be said, this site is kept to the highest of standards and it a credit to the Staff. David & Carol Kirk (Canterbury Kent)

excellent location

Excellent location just a short walk to the bus service that runs every 10 minutes into the centre of historic Cambridge. Also an easy drive to Ely with its wonderful cathederal. Loads of other attractions nearby that make a week just fly by. The site is the usual high standard of the caravan club & is run extremely well by its 1st class wardens, highly recommended.

Lovely site

Site interesting as it's in a quarry. Pitches all vary but if anything a little undersized for our van and awning, but staff very helpful fitting it all in! Site neat and tidy. We arrived after a very wet spell and several of the pitches were closed due to the wet conditions, not that it was problem finding a good site. Facilities clean and tidy. All staff friendly and really helpful. Good position for Cambridge and nature walks around the interesting chalk reserve. Will be back again soon.
