Peaceful

Had just a two night stop over to break our journey up, and pitched up on a corner not too far from the entrance, backing on to a row of trees. Spacious hardstanding with EHU and the amenities block a short distance away. Staff were very pleasant and the site and facilities were very clean and tidy. Piped music in toilets was a first for us! Plenty of space for everyone, it seemed, and the onsite shop came in handy when we fancied an ice cream and ran out of eggs. Easy access to the park, although we never walked in to town due to the weather being against us. Would be lovely on a sunny day though. Happy to return here and recommend to others.

Visit Aug 23

Just visited this site. The site itself is divided by some excellent wide pitches and some really small uneven pitches. I would say choose your pitch carefully. The mobile phone signal is very poor as was the Wi-Fi signal. The Wi-Fi was installed the day before we left. This gave a better reception but still very slow. Plenty of visiting food vans on site offering a choice of various menus different nights. The toilet blocks were clean and never busy you could always get a shower cubicle all morning. This may be due to the fact that they are closed for cleaning on an afternoon which is an excellent idea ! The dog walking area is very good with secure fencing around and plenty of bins. The site is ideally situated for a walk into Cirencester. You can walk through the Bathurst estate via the cricket club into town, dogs can run free through some of the estate. Note the gates close at 5pm to the estate so you need to walk back via the path/road. Some of the wardens were extremely helpful and couldn’t be more helpful thanks to Marion,Elaine, Phil and Sue and Ian the groundsman. The team I felt was let down by one member who seemed to take delight at telling people to move their cars, going around pulling out electric plugs if not of the correct length which is fair enough but not to let the people know only for them to find out when they returned to their van/MH and fridge starting to defrost etc. They also were letting everyone in the office booking in know that people would be told as they had spotted a unsatisfactory cable.. I felt this was a totally unprofessional attitude and let the team down. In all a very nice convenient site for touring the Cotswolds.

Fantastic clean site

We stayed here in July and found it to be a great site. It had really great facilities. The shower block was large and clean. The pitches were large. There was a path that took you straight into the park estate and to Cirencester. We enjoyed a trip to the Corinium museum and chedworth Roman villa.

Not ideal for us but there are many other reviews that rate it highly.

Although this site has plenty of trees which was very good, below the level of the tree foliage the park is very open. People were walking between and behind caravans to get to the shower blocks. This was very intrusive with people walking right next to our windows. It' a shame there aren't some strategically placed fences or hedges which would force people to walk via the roads; it's a shame people don't do this anyway out of respect for there fellow caravaners. There are a large number of dogs on this site, during our stay (end of July 2023) there was a lot of barking from about 07:30 in the morning and also late in the evening. Lots of nice places to see outside the park though.

Our dog's favourite site

We've stayed here lots of times. We like it for walking miles in the park with our dogs. The site staff are helpful and check in is efficient. This time the site was about 60-70% full. The ladies facilities were definitely not as sparklingly clean as usual - there was a really strong smell of drains by the hand washing sinks and the plug holes needed a good clean out as did the sink overflows. The plugholes in the sinks in the cubicles whilst not smelly were equally dirty. The floor and obviously been cleaned but not right into the corners or properly round the cubicle wall supports. I expect some readers might think that l'm being fussy, and they would be right - site fees are expensive and l think that warrants facilities.that are cleaned right into every corner.

Good in parts

To echo other users a well kept clean site with good access to the town and lovely walks in the estate. Visited the newly opened Roots & Seeds cafe. Very nice and a 10% discount for members. The site didn't quite work for us as we use a motorhome and travel around the area to visit places. Not really geared up for this. More of a car place. We cycled to the water parks but noisy and busy roads with hgvs and speeding locals made it unpleasant even on off road cycle routes. Unless you are using a park and go into it you can't see the lakes from the roadside. Disappointing day. The main issue we had and to be fair will be temporary over the summer holidays, is the maintenance work being carried out at the college next door Mon to Friday .We were woken up at 7am when they start their day with reversing beeping vehicles etc. Quite horrendous and stressful. Take ear plugs!

Cirencester Park Experience

I have just spent a week at Cirencester Park site and it is a joy to stay on. I had a service pitch which worked very well and the site is kept very nice by the wardens. They are helpful and attentive with anything you ask them so I will not hesitate to return to this site. The walk into the town is easy about 1 1/2 miles and the town is very pleasant with lots of independent shop that are a treat to go into as are the many restaurants. I can’t wait to return

Good site

A really good site and we would return again. Good size dog exercise field and easy access to the Bathurst estate and Cirencester. There is a dog and bike wash facility near the exit which we found useful. At the moment the wi-fi is poor with just one hot spot and to top it off the reception on O2 mobile network is rubbish too! There are some main roads nearby so there is some traffic noise at times but not too bad. There is a college right next to the site and some of the pitches back onto it which we are glad we were not on as it's a bit unsightly. Access to the site is along a single track lane with some passing places but it is lined with huge rocks, not sure why but watch your outfits down here. Also the last passing place before the sight has been obstructed with the rocks so the one before that is out of site around a bend which causes some issues with traffic meeting head on and a bit of a stand off now and again!

Excellent site location

Excellent location, easy access to the town through the Bathurst estate. Love the renovated Old Stables complex which means there is a pub only 10 mins walk from site, limited opening hours so check first, also a lovely cafe and self serve dog wash, handy if your dog has just rolled in fox poo!!The access road is tight for a double axle 8ft wide caravan but fine as long as you go slowly and arrive/leave at the right times, would be easier if some of the rocks were moved. One thing I’m not keen on, and this is no reflection on the site, is the new CAMC directive about leaving unmown grass between pitches. I am all for helping the wildlife but this can be done on wide corners and in specified areas, leaving small strips between pitches makes it look unkempt and I can’t see it serves any purpose. The site staff work hard to keep sites tidy and I think members should be consulted to see if this is how we want our sites to look.

Return visit x4

We have stayed here before- fourth visit now so obviously we like it here on the edge of the Bathurst estate. Lovely location with about a one mile walk into town, most of which is covered by other reviewers. It’s a large site and the staff work tirelessly to keep up standards. No complaints there but, as mentioned in the site information, it has poor tv reception - In fact it has no tv reception and the tall trees obscure satellite reception as well so I purchased cable from the shop to connect my van to a tv signal box on the site distribution box only to find that it was not working either. Wi-Fi is being updated and was not available either. Very disappointing on an otherwise top site.
