Here again!

Just returned home after eight nights. We never seem to tire of Exmoor House and Dulverton. It’s not just the warm welcome from Debbie and Keith and their exceptionally well maintained site, it’s all the business owners and locals who are so friendly and eager to help as well. We plan to return again for the spectacular autumn leaves. It is one of our special places.

Good site for exploring Exmoor

Spent a few days in our caravan @ Exmoor House, Dulverton site at end of April. Our second visit to this pleasant, quiet and compact site. Located on the edge of small town of Dulverton, next to River Barle. It seems v popular and was just about full during our stay. Clean, well managed site as you'd expect from a club site. Level pitches, mobile signal was fine. Covid restrictions in place (toilet blocks open, showers closed still) seemed to work well and we felt covid secure. Dulverton itself was beginning to open up again. Site is handy for local walks (some directly from the site) along R Barle and for Exmoor attractions. Recommended if you want a quiet site close to walks, woods and moors.

Perfect site

A perfect site for our first trip away. Very friendly and helpful welcome, and a beautiful quiet site with just the lovely sound of the nearby river. Very short walk into the picturesque small town with everything you could need nearby. Couldn't be better; we hope to return soon.

First trip in our new motorhome

Having hired a motorhome last year to see if we liked the life, we ordered a brand new motorhome and it finally arrived last week. We had booked this site many months ahead hoping to be out of lockdown. As newbies to all this our experience is limited, however, it’s a beautiful site with very friendly and welcoming wardens. It’s in a lovely position close to the village to get any essentials and when it stops raining we are hoping to walk to Tarr Steps which is about twelve miles away. The facilities which at the moment don’t include the showers are beautifully clean and warm. There is no play area so small children aren’t catered for but there are many sites to choose from if that’s what you want. We struggled to get a tv signal but just watched tv via the internet. If you don’t manage to get a fully serviced pitch it’s really not a problem as the site is only small so nothing is too far to walk to. All in all I would thoroughly recommend this site if you are looking for an idyllic location in a quiet setting.

A welcome return

Having acquired another camper after many years and rejoined the club, my first trip was to revisit Exmoor House site and was delighted to find that the same high standards still prevailed. A beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean site with excellent facilities on the edge of the delightful town of Dulverton; what more can one ask? I shall be back soon.

A warm welcome

We were fortunate enough to be able to arrive on site during the first day of opening in April. The early opening time ensured that there was a steady stream of members arriving without any queueing which might have disrupted the town. We received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from both site managers and had the bonus of some good weather. During the site closure, a lot of work had been undertaken to level and fill the hardstandings and some additional road surfacing work. Needless to say the site was spotless and remained so during our two week stay. The friendly and efficient way in which the site managers acted certainly helped to make our holiday more enjoyable. The town has a selection of pubs and cafes with a local supermarket, all within walking distance. For those with a weakness for homemade pies, pasties and cakes, the Exclusive cake company is a must visit.

Nice site.

Only stayed for one night April 2021 after lockdown reopening. Excellent small site. Facilities with wristband worked well, all covid rules being obeyed, never saw a queue and very clean. Wardens very helpful and chatty. Pitches all gravel hard standings most are a good size. Very easy access to Dulverton only five minute walk to nearest pubs and shops. First time visit but will definitely visit again.

Beautiful location, and great staff.

This site is an amazing location just a short walk from the quaint town of Dulverton. Dulverton has some lovely cafes & pubs, and Woods restaurant is outstanding. While here we enjoyed some beautiful walks along the river and onto Exmoor. Great place to stay. One of my favorites.

Lovely, peaceful site

This was our first visit to Exmoor House site and Dulverton village. The welcome was friendly and we were allowed to choose our own pitch. Most of the pitches were level or almost so. The site was quiet, being mid-week in December. All facilities were spotlessly clean and felt Covid secure, with a wrist band system in place. We had heavy rain during out stay and found that a torch came in useful to avoid puddles in the dark as the site wasn't particularly well lit. The sound of the river definitely got louder after the rain. I liked it, but you might not if you are a light sleeper. Dulverton is a lovely village with a co-op, a pharmacy and some interesting independent shops, including a well stocked secondhand bookshop. We had a good, if muddy, walk up the ridge to a hill fort and back along the side of the river Barle, about 6 m or 7 miles altogether. Can recommend the scones in Mortimers and the takeaway menu in Tongdam Thai restaurant if you fancy a night off from cooking

A well placed, well run site in a lovely little village

From the very welcoming check-in, to the sound of the river next to our pitch, the lovely village and the stag and does on our walk the whole of our stay was lovely. The staff were very approachable and friendly with helpful hints as to the walks around the area. The local shops are well stocked, the butchers (just a shame I couldn't buy the venison to take home as we were touring around) the deli, the grocers and the co-op could happily provide all your needs whilst staying.
