Did you previously contact the site to advise you were running late? it would then have then been noted ontheir arrival sheet which would also have had your vehicle registration and would then have saved any "confusion"when you eeventually arrived

Sorry you had a bad day but did you ever stop to think that maybe the warden had also had a bad day plus been on her feet all day and cleaning toilets after people (bet that was great fun for her). So just give a thought to the wardens who never get a minute peace they do a really good job and without them we would be stumped

But regardless of the rights and wrongs of this particular case, I'd say that for every review criticising wardens (often from folk who, advertently or inadvertently are somewhat in the wrong themselves ) there are dopens praising the wardens - you only have to look through the past couple of days reviews to see this. Two sides to every story as ever.

If as seem the club wishes to staff on a shoestring
I don't know of any site in the UK, of a similar size, that has staff available 24/7 or even for 12 hours a day David.
Maybe the OP thought they would make up the time as they travelled. Maybe they were simple caught out at the last moment. Maybe they did not have a mobile phone or the battery was flat. Maybe they could not find a working phone box.
An awful lot of Maybes there. Maybe she thinks her wants are more important than others - I have no idea. Nor do you
