Extremely well organised site.

We have been to this site several times whilst walking the Gower Coast Path. It has to be one of favourite destinations with spotless facilities and extremely welcoming wardens and staff. Their professional and friendly approach is second to none. Thank you all for making our visits so pleasant. Our cat loves it too!

Welcoming, Spotlessly Clean & Fabulous Staff

Huge thanks to all who run Gowerton Club Site. Special shout out to Rachel and the gentleman she was working with, apologies did not get his name but he was lovely m. Our every need was met. Lovely clean and well maintained site. Friendliest welcome ever and great advice on where to visit. Fantastic Pizza Van on Thursday evenings. And my 9 month old Cocker Spaniel loved the wooded dog walk. Lovely to let him run free safe in the knowledge he was in a fully secure area. It was beautiful. Thank you can’t wait to visit again.

It's One Of The Best!!!

We've stayed at the Gowerton site a number of times. It's great location, well laid out site with spacious pitches and immaculate facilities are just a few points that make it our favourite site. It's surrounded by trees and the morning bird song is idyllic. The designated dog walk in the woods is safely fenced and well positioned, not everyone likes dogs so it's nice to be able to take our gang out of the way for a good stretch of the legs and not bother anyone who doesn't want to be bothered by them. The facilities are immaculate, not a huge amount of showers for the size of site but we didn't see a problem, the Spring Bank Holiday was as busy as we've seen it and there was no sign of queueing so I guess the site planners have got it about right. There's a Tesco Express about a 10 minute walk away, other than that you're going to need a car for supplies or a pub. There's a Harvester just over a mile away, probably a good 20 minute walk but it's all flat and straightforward, depends on your feel for a walk. Accepting that you're probably going to need some mode of transport to get around then you'll find yourself ideally situated to enjoy the Gower Peninsula, Swansea Marina and the Mumbles. Try the Swansea Valley all the way up to the Brecon Beacons, about 25 mins drive. Porthcawl is a must! The beaches are beautiful, if you have children the fun fair will keep them happy for an afternoon and there's lots of cafes and places to eat on the front. Dan yr Ogof caves, Aberdulais falls or head west towards Carmarthen for the National Botanic Gardens and Aberglasney Gardens. So much to explore and see. Or just chill, relax and enjoy the beautiful Gowerton Site. Honestly, it's fabulous x

We had a good stay here

We stayed for 5 nights in May over a long weekend Thursday to Tuesday. On arrival were upgraded from grass to hard standing because the grass pitches were too wet after recent rain, and as the site wasn't too busy we were able to choose our own pitch which was nice. The shower block was very clean and the other facilities were easy to access. There is a little noise from both the road and the railway which is close to the site but this didn't bother us unduly. The 'things to do' shed was a bit disappointing, but we were able to find stuff out for ourselves. The TV reception was excellent and Wi-Fi was OK too. Our only minor niggle is about dogs. We both like dogs and understand that owners like to feel that their dog is part of the family, but it gets very tiresome when you get barked at everytime the dog on the neighbouring pitch is outside, but this is probably more an issue for CAMC as an organisation than a particular campsite. Overall. we enjoyed our stay.

Best CAMC site yet!

I can't speak highly enough of the site or the wardens. The pitches were lovely and spacious and the welcome was warm and friendly. We were fortunate to be able to get a pitch close to the block and concede that the experience may have been slightly different in busier times as there is only one block and the campsite is huge! The facilities were lovely and clean with reasonable and not overly long closure times for cleaning. It's only 15 minutes from Swansea and the Gower Peninsula is just wonderful with killer-view cafes and pubs. We look forward to returning!

Our home from home

As we have relatives and friends in the area we stay at this site at least 4 times a year and for at least 6 weeks each year. It is like coming home. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The site is level with any hard standing pitches as well as many well kept grass pitches and the toiley blocks and washing facilities are always clean warm and well cared for. The area is truly beautiful with many glorious beaches and Swansea has all he facilities you would expect in a large modern city and it is only a ten minute drive away from this quiet well kept site. A national cycling trail runs past the entrance to the site. This trail enables cyclists to cycle into Swansea on mainly traffic free cycle pathsin one direction and Llanelli and Burry Port in the other. We always enjoy our stays at the Gowerton site and would not hesitate to recommend it.

Nice site, but missing information meant we got wet.

This was a nice site. We only stayed for one night but didn't notice any issues with noise and chose a pitch that was reasonably close to the facilities so there were no issues there. However, when we arrived and set up we couldn't get the electric hook up to work. It was raining and we just couldn't get the power to the van. After about 15 minutes of trying various leads and appliance combinations my husband admitted defeat and walked over to reception to ask. He was told that the plug needed to be twisted once it had been put in. Easy when you know how, but we didn't. The lady on reception told him that 'most people know this' As it was the first time we have stayed on a site with that set-up we didn't. A few seconds explanation on check-in, or a sticker on the electric point (as they had on a site we stayed on later in the week) would have saved us a lot of mucking about in the rain. I've given a rating of 3 for good for families but as we were travelling as a couple I can't really comment and there is not option not to give a rating so I went for the middle.

Family holiday under a black cloud

Lovely spacious pitches, clean and well maintained site and the information hut is the best I've ever seen and we have been caravanners for 10 years but security was poor. The CCTV is out of action and this is common knowledge and the entrance barrier was broken at the time of our visit. We unfortunately had our bikes stolen the first night we were there and so did another family. Apparently, this has happened in previous years and we were disappointed there were not signs up at the time telling people this was an issue on the site and it would have prompted us to be even more careful (signs were put up after our incident and a security guard was employed on site). There is one general sentence in the information sheet about bikes, but not about a history of bike theft). Agree with the traffic noise - wouldn't normally see this as a problem but it was sirens that were heard on a daily basis, which was quite annoying. Such a shame as there were lovely cycle paths - perfect for families and the beaches are beautiful!

Happy time a gower

We stayed at Gower Club Site for a week and cannot fault the campsite, staff and the facilities, It was well kept inside and out. Only slight thing is the fact you could hear traffic noise from a main road or the motorway but it worth mentioning

Beautifully maintained site

First of, this is a beautifully maintained site, with spotless facilities and lovely kept pitches. Staff are courteous, helpful and efficient. Location is good for Swansea and the surrounding area and it is very peaceful with a convenience store and a garage within walking distance. The main negative is that there is only one set of facilities near the main office, including rubbish bins and recycling, meaning a long walk for those pitches at the edge of the site. I realise this would hard to fix in terms of showers and toilets, but some additional bins by the second set of water taps would be much better. Unfortunately this means we'd be unlikely to stay again, but for those who don't mind a long walk to the showers this is a great site.
