Excellent stay at Gowerton site. Excellent friendly wardens. Supermarket handy as we are motorhomes, but one thing this site lacks is more hardstanding as the grass pitches suffer flooding with heavy rain. Site recommended as central to the Gower and good transport links, ie train station and on main bus route.
A week at Gowerton
What can we say about our stay at Gowerton!First the weather was not good, the grass pitches became waterlogged and water came up through the awning carpet. The wardens decided to remove all recycling bins to farthest part of site hence no recycling took place, rubbish held outside vans and rats were seen on several occasions.Food vans ie fish&chips banned by wardens.Only one facility bloc and the wardens closed over 50% of these 2 showers, toilets, washrooms, hence queues of up to 1/2 hour only 3 bands available.Attitude of wardens poor and aggressive at times especially when complaints flooded in,they said any more complaints and he would shut the whole facilities down.outside dish wash closed but inside open, bizarre.cleaning of facilities 10.15 to 11.30,this was regimental to the extent of refusing entry 5mins before sending at least one person to tesco to use their loos.Subsequently bands disappeared over night and for a day the system worked well using common sense, yet more closure threats with a signs to the contrary .Summing up,could be a good site if the wardens were replaced,2nd bloc built and grass pitch drainage sorted.

Really helpful staff in a crisis
We cannot fault the staff at this site. We had booked in for a week but sadly discovered a major problem with our caravan when we were setting up. The team gave us details of a mobile engineer (although unfortunately he could not help ) and were very helpful when we had no option but to cancel the rest of our stay. It’s a lovely site - well laid out and near excellent beaches so we’ll be back. This site is well managed by a lovely team.
Gowerton
Only 2 showers and 2 toilets in the Men's block. Not sufficient for over 120 pitches. This place needs another toilet block.
There are no bins at the service points. You must put your rubbish in an industrial bin by the entrance.
This site is very good for cycling with an excellent route to the Mumnles.
Apart from the woman the staff were friendly and helpful.
Men's toilet area
Love coming to thus site.. But came for 1 night 26/06/21 on the off chance.. Well my husband never complains yo me but was saying the 3 band rule didn't apply to certain men.. They wodnt take a band and were just going in.. At 1 point there were 5 men in the block... This happened a few times on our stay,, also it the wash area there was a pair of boxer shorts left on the floor.. He said the men didn't care... But on our arrival we parked up and had the little visit from the squirrel which I love seeing... We sat out till at least 11pm as we like to see the bat's flying above.. Also a negative this is the only site they have taken away the recycling areas,, why I just dont get it.. There were just big bins as you come into the site by the reception.. To which I found quite far for some people to walk to... I just didn't get why this was changed here... We will be back but hopefully things will run a bit smoother.. Our next trip is malvern.. In 2 weeks which will be our 3rd time going...
Lovely site and such helpful friendly staff
This site was our first time using our Campervan.. on arrival the member of staff was ever so friendly and gave us great advice and even came to where we pitched as I was concerned if I had parked okay.. so grateful to staff as they always had time for us. The facilities where of good standard and always clean and COVID measures where always in place. The site was situated superbly to travel around the gower .the site was peaceful and great to relax.Great area within and around site to walk our dog too.We shall be back very soon.thank you once again
Nice site but staff has attitude problem
This site is large and have a nice view. Facilities are just fine, older compared to other site we stayed. The biggest issue is the attitude for the staff working there. Their attitude makes me feel uncomfortable, like they are teaching me instead helping me. Use less "You CAN'T", "DON'T do" may be helpful. When they say "You can't stay here tonight", they must feel like a boss.

Gowerton caravan site
Nice large site dont bother to stay while covid is here.
Toilets and showers open thats a laugh 2 toilets and 2showers one queue so if your female you will be there a while.no reason why more can be open and 2queues one for toilets and showers.Wardens miserable try smiling.
You would be better off on a cl site because you are paying just for a flooded wet field lots of biting insects.Best bit hearing an owl at night nothing else positive to say.
Oh and all your rubbish to be put in large bin at entrance.
Why are we all paying premium rates for a field?.

Enjoyable Bank Holiday stay
We enjoyed a lovely 2 night bank holiday stay at Gowerton, taking advantage of a trip to the Mumbles seafront which is a short drive away and enjoying the relaxed site for the rest of the time. We pitched up a hard standing which was decent enough, and I imagine if we'd arrived much later than the earliest midday arrival time we'd have been out of luck. That said, the grass pitches were well maintained and spaced so we wouldn't have minded too much.
The only slight downside to our stay was the demand for facilities was such that queues formed at peak times, particularly for the ladies. Only three people were allowed into the facilities at any one time with only one block available, so over a busy bank holiday demand was high. It did seem as thought the site was restricting the number of pitches in use as there were plenty of spare capacity, so perhaps that was to help with demand on facilities.
Overall, I'd recommend the site. Easy access from the M4 and a great base to explore the Gower. We'll be back!
Very enjoyable week
Very clean and tidy site with plenty of room. The facilities were closed due to Covid but they are central to the site. A really good dog walk at the site plus access to the playing fields. We had lots of rain add the site does hold the water! Our hard standing had water pooling and some of the others had a lot of water puddling. Understandable as the site is, I would suggest, at sea level or very close to it. Hard standings were fine. Easy to get the pegs in with a lump hammer.
Tesco express a 10 mi walk away and plenty of supermarkets within 15 minutes by car. Lovely cycle ride to the Mumbles or Swansea. Both about 8 miles and mostly flat each way. Easy ride towards Llanelli as well. Both routes are mainly traffic free. Oxwich allow dogs on the beach (£5 car park! Ouch. )and a wonderful walk from Cresswell Bay to the Mumbles.
