Great place to get about from

This was our first visit to the site at Gowerton, and we were not at all disappointed by it. I had read a review that did not give the site too high a rating, so was wondering what to expect, but was not too concerned, based on the performance of the other sites I have visited. My first contact with the site was to check as to whether or not I was going to be able to get there, as I drive a motorhome, and there is a warning in the handbook. My call was answered by one of the wardening team, who could not have been more welcoming or helpful. my fears were dispelled by her very positive attitude. On arrival the site was quite full, but the pitch provided a great space, and was well clear of other caravaners. After the weekend it went quite quiet, and I just though how many members were missing out on such a great site and location. As a motorhome owner, getting about can be a bit awkward, but the close location of the railway station meant that it was possible to get around easily, to much of South Wales. In fact I am considering revisiting the site to enjoy its location but also the rail links to much of South Wales, it is a great asset having this service close by. I did hire a car for a few days, and on one day explored the north side of the Gower, which is far less commercialised than some of the southern access of the peninsula. Visited the lovely Weobley Castle, and lunched at the Kings Head Langennith, some really great food. Also spent a day visiting Lanharne, an interesting castle and the Boat House, made famous by Dylan Thomas, the author of Under Milkwood. A great site to visit and a great team looking after the place for us members, will certainly be back again A great place to go, and a great team to go with it.
