Many caravan club members had told us that Hawes was one of their favourite sites and we now know why. A lovely site in a beautiful position close to Hawes. The scenery is outstanding which ever way you look and being blessed on several occasions with a covering of snow on the high fells made the views all the more spectacular. If you have never visited Hawes this must be a site on your bucket list of sites to visit before you die.
Being dog owners we loved the fully fenced dog field with acres of space for Fido to run to their hearts content.
Highly recommended was the Fountain Inn in Hawes, with log fires, friendly staff and fabulous food why would you go anywhere else. Plenty of other fine eating and food establishments in Hawes, too many to mention.
Don't miss the Wensleydale creamery for a fantastic selection of cheeses.
Beautiful walks from the camp site so didn't have to use the car.
Staff lovely and friendly i could go on...
Another enjoyable stay
Nearly always stay here when in the Dales. Peaceful close to town. Excellent walks from site. Wardens excellent.
Great Site - Nice Folk
This site is everything you expect in a Dales location. The grounds were well maintained and the block kept clean, albeit a little tired in places. As you might expect many pitches are on a slope so bring your ramps. A ten minute stroll gets you into the heart of the town and there are plenty of places to eat. We asked a local shop owner to recommend pubs and we were not disappointed. The Dales Museum and the Rope makers are interesting venues and are close to the site. We have left some places to explore on our next visit.
Not a Wi-Fi hot spot
If a good Wi-Fi signal is important to you have a look on the CC web site they rate all the club sites that have a Wi-Fi facility the best being rated gold the worst being rated Bronze. You should be aware that Hawes is rated Bronze.

Thank you Wardens!
This is my favourite CC site and I was really happy to return this Easter. The reasons I love this site?
1) The Dales are beautiful
2) The lovely village of Hawes is a short walk away 3) There are lovely walks and runs straight from the site including one across fields to the Green Dragon pub and waterfall. 4) The site is lovely and safe for kids, our daughter loves it. 5) There's loads to do within walking distance including gift shops, pubs, Wensleydale Cheese, the Dales museum and Gayle Mill.
The wardens are lovely. This year our daughter left a little ornament on the counter in the shop. The wardens looked after it and posted it back home for us. Jess was delighted. We will be visiting again.

Nice Easter Break
First time we have visited this site with our Touring Caravan but will definitely be back. Well set out and nice views of the hills. Easy access to visit places and enjoyed the walk into Hawes. Good clean facilities and friendly staff.
Great Easter break
We have visited this site numerous times. A VERY warm welcome from the wardens...they are great!!! Lovely and peaceful throughout our stay...people left pitches and came onto pitches very quietly too. Good dog walk. Very poor/non-existent mobile reception but this was fine for us. Good TV reception though. The only slight down-side was the shower block - one boiler was broken and not fixed throughout the week and this meant limited water and shower availability - on one occasion the water just dribbled out - however we managed and not the wardens fault. Just wish the Club would bring the very clean shower/toilet block up to the modern standard of other sites please.
Great find
Just returned from our first trip to the Yorkshire Dales and 5 nights at Hawes. The site is absolutely perfect for walking the dales and taking in the breathtaking scenery. It is within walking distance to the town and the Wensleydale creamery which is a must. We were recommended The Crown PH for somewhere to eat but we didn't rate it. The menu is very basic and the food quality poor and in my opinion overpriced.
I can however recommend The Green Dragon in Hardraw. Proper home cooked food, excellent real ales and great value with friendly staff and the dogs are welcome. We ate here twice following a long walk across the fields and it was just perfect. If you're looking for a nice well kept site with fantastic walks and scenery then Hawes won't disappoint.
The site is very well maintained and the wardens couldn't be more helpful. The games room was great for the rainy days too. Well done staff at Hawes and thank you we had a great time and will definitely be returning.
Sorry for the Staff
Stayed over the Easter weekend. Not the best weather. The wardens do their very best and the facilities are always left spotless, however it only take a short time for the gents toilets to be fouled again. There is no excuse for the state others leave the toilets in. Sorry but I have been to Hawes on four occasions and always find the same issue.
