Great views and very convenient for area sights

This site is very welI maintained and the staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing is a problem. The site is on two levels both with good views and local wildlife, including the local cows. It is approx 0.5ml into town down a mostly well lit road but a torch is a help. The facilities on site are clean and looked after. There are plenty of sights, walks and local towns and markets to visit. In town there is the famous Wensleydale creamery to visit and by the local cheese. There are also a few good coffee shops, pubs and places to eat. Also a local spar. Be warned later in the year opening times may vary. Well worth a visit and a warm welcome is guaranteed.

Peaceful Site

We rolled up at 4.50 on the Saturday and I was unaware they’d been trying to contact us as they were expecting us between 3.00pm-4.00pm. I changed the arrival time on my booking the day before when I paid the balance and the system hadn’t updated our arrival time! Please sort that out! But it was nice to receive a message from the site. The welcome was great and our pitch, perfect (super pitch). The site is well placed for walking into Hawes and Hardraw force. There seems to be good footpaths in the area should you stay longer. The facilities are spotless and one of the wardens was even feather dusting the windows outside! Above and beyond I’d say. I would definitely recommend this club site. Five stars in my eyes.

Fabulous

My new favourite site, absolutely perfect. Beautifully kept site the wardens can be extremely proud of themselves, their hard work has paid off. Arrived to a warm welcome & have to admit I was overwhelmed by the site & views. Fantastic dog field/walk with loads of bins. It’s a short walk into Hawes which has every shop you might need, pubs, cafes etc. Looks quite magical at this time of year in the evening. Don’t miss the old train station cafe & museum. Also Wensleydale cheese, pickle & jam factory, rope making factory. Highly recommend the local fish & chip shop. So many places we didn’t get time to see but definitely returning, thank you wardens 😊

Excellent Service

We arrived in Hawes a few days earlier than planned as we had to leave our site in Keswick due to a flood warning. We rang Hawes before leaving Keswick and were given instructions on how to avoid the roadworks in the village. We didn’t arrive until 7 o’clock by which time it was dark, to be greeted by wardens Jason and Thomas who could not have been more helpful. They waited for us to chose our pitch and even lent us their wastemaster until a serviced pitch became available. Thankyou Jason and Thomas for all your help in a difficult situation.

Great Site for Exploring Northern Yorkshire Dales

We stayed here two weeks ago and had a good time despite the changeable weather. Excellent location for exploring the northern Yorkshire Dales and within walking distance of Hawes town centre. Easy access. Extremely helpful and friendly wardens which is always a plus. Also it has a drying room (a plus for walkers like us) and TV booster connection on the electric connection post (so we had excellent TV despite the website saying TV poor). One thing to note locally the petrol station in Hawes is automated and won't accept Nationwide or Nat West cards (why I don't know!) as I found out when trying to use a Nationwide card and then read the sign. Fortunately, I had a second card as next nearest petrol station is probably a good 15 miles away.

A return visit - one of our favourites

Another fabulous break here and will be booking to return. Perfect location for walkers, there are so many direct from the site. The village is a short stroll away, great pubs and cafes, the cheese factory and some nice little shops. The site itself is beautiful, well maintained. Large and spotlessly clean shower and toilet block. Well stocked shop on site and wardens extremely friendly, chatty and helpful. Can’t fault this site nor its location.

Lovely site exactly what we wanted

So as this is a CAMC site you know what the facilities will be like, and that's exactly what we got. Plenty of showers, toilets, washbasins, hot water, washing up area and laundry. There was also a drying room which we did not need to use, so cannot comment on how good it was, but it's there which is a good sign in a place full of walkers and cyclists. All the pitches were on hardstanding and we felt large (but we are a camper van with small sun canopy and pup tent on this occasion), and despite not thinking we could book a standard pitch and booking a serviced pitch, we were pleased to be able to have a standard awning pitch and save some money. This was all sorted by the wardens who were friendly and helpful. Our teenagers were really pleased with the games room and happily disappeared for a bit of table tennis. All that the mobile phone reception was good so they could happily surf the internet without us needing to purchase access to the wifi which can be hit and miss. It's a really short stroll into Hawes itself. and there are plenty of walks from the site. We all enjoyed a round loop taking in Hardraw Force, with a pub lunch at the Green Dragon before hoping to hit the Wensleydale creamery. Unfortunately we missed the final tour/ demonstration here by 10 mins, and the staff members was so off we didn't think it was worth a return visit - they clearly have lots of business - but if you do want to go it's worth getting the leaflet from the site office which enables you to get 2 tickets for the price of 1. We only spent 2 nights here but would definitely come back for another visit.

Dog exercise area

This site has all the things that you would expect on a C&MH site including a dog exercise field which was absolutely great. The best I've ever seen!

Fantastic Site Fantastic Staff

Returned on July 3rd from a week on this beautifully kept site. Easy access to town and dales by foot, cycle, motorcycle or car. There is a fantastic dog exercise area with great views to the hills in which they can run. Overall a well kept site with really friendly staff and will visit again in the future. Lower priced fuel in town thanks to community run garage.
