First Visit

hello As stated our first visit to this site small site , clean and tidy no facilities but we have our own so no problem. quite full when we arrived(sat morning) selected pitch and set up. Visited local Town (Hebden Bridge) walked around Shops for an hour or so, this is enough!. Sunday went to Hardcastle Crags well worth a visit, very easy nice walk. Site is on quite a busy back road so can be noisy at night. as its only 25 from home we will prob return another day

Hidden Gem

The warden wasn't on site when I arrived but all the leaflets, site plan and pitching instructions were clearly left for me in waterproof packaging at the reception building. The site was as all CC sites, immaculate and peaceful. If there were more facilities then I would have awarded 5 stars but the lack of loo and shower block was a shame however I really enjoyed my 3 night stay. The wardens were very helpful and friendly and the pitches were roomy and nicely placed apart. I wouldn't hesitate to use this site again

nice quiet site

stayed friday and saturday night. lovely quiet site, nice grounds. downside would be no loo block or shower block which for the money is quite suprising they don't have these. would stay again overnight if in the area.

Peaceful and very handily placed

The river Elphin provides a lovely backdrop.  We stayed March 2015 and can only imagine how it will look when everything is in bloom as it was nice even in early spring.  Buses and trains on hand with Mytholmroyd only a 15 minute walk (recommend the Shoulder of Mutton for food).  Great walks nearby and the transport links take you further afield if need be.  A great place to stay.

A Super Site

I have just returned from a mid week break at this site and felt it worthy of a review. The wardens Helen and Ian Wright were friendly and very informative with regards to the local area which I understand they know well. Its a lovely site not too big and picture perfect although we did get a mixed bag of weather make sure you have appropriate clothing even with the sun out as it can change in an instant. The journey from the Midlands was straightforward M6,M62 ect although be warned the M62 was more like the M25 with congestion road works and very narrow lanes at times. Hebden Bridge well worth a visit although I felt some of the towns nearby had seen better days maybe they are in need of some government investment. Local pubs friendly and inviting. On the whole a lovely site which I would recommend but not a site for children.

Warm welcome, Friendly site

Such a warm genuine welcome from the lady warden. She had saved us a pitch suitable for our long motorhome, but was more than happy for us to choose an alternative sunnier pitch. So long as it was suitable. This is such a peaceful and pleasant smaller site and we loved it. Fantastic walks from the site. The site doesn't have a toilet block. Which would be a positive addition. However, this didn't deter us and we definitely look forward to returning. A gold star for the wardens!

Home from home

CC system doesn't recognise that you already reviewed a site so If I responded to every "welcome home" there'd be a lot from me for Hebden lol. Great site for peace and quite and walking/cycling. Nothing for kids here so tend not to get too many    Cool , there are much more appropriate sites. Nice to see we still have the same Wardens this year as you can't get better than Helen & Ian and they put in so much hard work last season to improve this site. Made a few bookings for this year so we can see the flora bloom across the season.

First of the season

This was our first outing this year and we just booked on Wednesday morning and went. The site had just opened for the season a few days earlier and the male warden was busying himself tending to the site borders an pitches. His wife has to be one of the friendliest wardens I have come across in my 30 years of vanning. She was so pleasant. It's quite a homely site being small and circular and majority of pitches are large but there are a few with blue pegs so can't take awnings. These back alongside the perimeter fence with a picturesque river running alongside. The site has no children's play area so they may find it a bit boring as one or two of them proved by racing around the road on their bikes. The site is next to the main road but it is on a much lower level so traffic noise was minimal. There is a bus stop at the entrance which goes to Hebden Bridge if you don't fancy the walk. The exit from the site is up hill and the surface of the site drive where it meets the road needs attention. The surface condition is poor and you could spin the wheels if you end up on loose tarmac. Otherwise a lovely site

very friendly and helpful wardens

Only our second outing in our van, and had a VERY warm welcome to this site by the friendly wardens. They literally got their hands dirty helping us. We were very grateful as being beginners can be very daunting. The site is very peaceful and well kept, the pitches are large and spacious. A lovely walk into Hebden Bridge which is a lovely place to visit. Would definitely recommend this site.
