Usual CAMC high standard site

This small site does not have a facility block, but, service area and, indeed, remainder of site, clean, tidy and well cared for. Wardens friendly and helpful. Bus stop just outside site, and, shops within 1 mile (relevant to us as Motorhomers). Good level cycling along NCN66 and Rochdale Canal Towpath. There are hilly options if you want them! Good walking. Choice of pubs within walking distance. Hebden Bridge town/village quaint and well cared for, and within easy walking/cycling distance for two vintage 1947 Pensioners. Only slight downside, site slightly afflicted with the menace of yappy and barking dogs.

Great site and helpful wardens

Wanted to visit this site for a while and must admit a little put off by some negative comments. However, the site is great. Small and very clean. We were aware that there were no facilities but this did not cause us any issues. We had a nice walk down into Hebden Bridge, lovely little town, had a few drinks and a meal. As for the wardens they were great. There was a problem with our booking and they dealt with it quickly and efficiently. We found them very friendly and went out of their way to help us. Will certainly be revisiting.

Excellent Friendly Wardens!!!!!

In total comparison to previous reviews (obviously the wardens must have had a very recent personality change) Or is it some people don't like to abide by the conditions and rules the club stipulates and anyone deemed to be doing their job efficiently, are then branded Jobworths? Fortunately i hadn't read the reviews, as this was a very last minute en route booking, should i have had, it may have influenced my decision to visit Hebden Club Site and also given me a pre conception of the staffs attitudes. Had trouble with my EHU lead, sorted quickly, efficiently and politely by the warden and his testing equipment. Well laid out site, maintained very nicely. Local knowledge given with courtesy. What more does anyone want or expect from a site? all in all....... well worth a stay

Warden

Lovely site, met bye lovely lady in reception, but let down by overzealous Jobsworth of a warden patrolling the site. Shame as everything else was great.

Lovely clean and well maintained site run by friendly wardens.

Our first time staying at Hebden Bridge Site, which is actually situated in Cragg Vale, a beautiful area steeped in history. A beautiful well maintained site, situated just off the busy main road with two local pubs nearby and a bus stop right outside with a regular bus service into Hebden Bridge, a walkers paradise which we loved. Despite some negative comments, we found the wardens very friendly, both over the telephone and in person, once we had arrived on site. We will be returning in the near future to further explore this beautiful part of West Yorkshire.

Completely spoilt by dressing down from the wardens

The site staff were very aggressive and unwelcoming. People do not mind being reminded of rules - for example, after a very difficult journey we arrived very tired and were unaware that there was a one-way system, But to be reminded of this in an unfriendly manner was not a pleasant start to our stay. The following morning we were due to visit my parents-in-law for the first time in 18 months who live close by. My father-in-law drove onto the site to pick us up (like a taxi) as I have mobility difficulties particularly in the mornings. My husband was severely dressed down in front of my father-in-law which was like being back in school with a particularly poor teacher. It was our first experience of CAMC site and my husband will have to be persuaded to go back to another one. It totally marred our visit. The site wardens need to work very hard on their personal interactions. Good customer service suggests that regardless of the message being given, a service provider has the ability to deliver the message in a calm, reasonable and most importantly, respectful way. My husband pointed out very calmly that they were normalising unkindness which is not what anyone wants during/following a global pandemic. Clearly from other reviews, other people have experienced similar reactions but from other reviews, it's clear that they can be nice. Unfortunately, it appears that if there is anything that 'displeases' them, they have only one modus operandi which is aggression and that is unacceptable customer service. The club may want to consider a customer service course and direct it their way.

Met with aggression on our first caravan club experience!

A lovely looking site within walking distance of Hebden Bridge. However after travelling over 200 miles to reach it, we found the site, which we had booked, at about 11.20 am. My husband started to service our camper while I set off to reception to register our arrival. A man appeared and started shouting rudely that he must stop immediately, leave the site and come back after 12pm. I too was told at reception that it was too early to register and we would need to leave the site and come back in about half an hour. The reception lady was however polite and helpful in explaining where were could park for a while in the nearby village. Sadly my husband’s experience ruined the day for him and he was reluctant to stay there at all!

Lovely little site

We managed to book one night at Hebden Bridge site last week, and what a find it was. Very well set out with super little pitches, and great facilities. We arrived quite late and the Warden couldn't have been more helpful, even telephoning a local pub to see if they were serving meals. We will definitely return and spend more time here. The "Robin Hood" a short walk from the site were most hospitable and their homemade steak and stilton pie was to die for!!

Excellent place to stay

This wasn't our first trip but the first since the improvement works which have left the taps and disposal points better organised. Staff were very friendly and helpful, as ever. This was the first time we had pitched an awning and were lucky to hit soft enough ground but we could have done with metal hard ground pegs to make it easier (and if the ground dries out more than it was) Pretty quiet overall but the noise from the road was a bit more noticeable this time around, more traffic than in previous years. Locals shops (incl. Coop and JS) only a mile or so away, Easy walk or cycle along the river or canal in to Hebden Bridge. On a bus route to HB and in to Halifax and of course the train running east/west Leeds and Manchester.

Rude warden

Our 3 night stay was spoilt by rude and unnecessarily autocratic warden, who, when he wasn't driving up and down on his noisy quad (so noisy he was wearing ear defenders), patrolled the site and stood staring accusingly at various motorhomes/caravans. Despite over 6 metres of gap between our neighbours caravan, plus a 2 foot wide hedge, they still bluntly insisted on us moving across to align exactly with a marker to comply with the minimum 2 metre health and safety gap! The only positive was that the site and grounds were well maintained, although is grass-cutting at 8 am on a Saturday really necessary? We won't come back, this is easily the most unfriendly club site we have visited, and have cancelled a future visit here already. We're choosing from the local CLs instead where we're sure they will appreciate the business after such a touch year for the tourist industry.
