Perfect Location

Used this site as a base to take my son to the Harry Potter Studios which is a bout 40 mins away.  Site was very quite so had a good choice of pitches.  Advantage was that we could pitch as far away from the main road as possible to avoid the traffic noise, which at times seemed loud even at the back of the site. Other than that the site is good. Facilities were spotless.  The wardens were just filling in for a few days but we're absolutely amazing. We originally booked 3 nights but decided to head back after the second and stay a little closer to home for another 2 nights. They were so helpful in amending my booking and then booking the new site for me, brilliant.  Will definitely return.

Helpful and friendly

A big thank you to the temporary wardens, Gordon and Chris, for all their help during my stay. In my opinion they are a great asset to the organisation. The site is immaculate and in a fab location and the facilities are spotless.

Winter weekend in Henley

Stayed here for 4 nights. Wonderfully warm welcome from the 2 duty wardens. Huge non muddy pitch near the back of the site i.e away from the very busy road. This site is 15 minutes walk from Henley town centre. There is a pavement all the way and street lights for half the distance. Henley was all dressed for Christmas and the annual Christmas Street Market was simply great. Certainly got us in the Christmas mood. Several town pubs are dog friendly and even some of the shops. This site is perfectly located for visiting Henley. Will definitely return and just hope that we can get a pitch away from the road again. Useful enclosed dog area where dogs can roam off the lead but supervised. Immaculately clean and warm washrooms. Didn't see any children on the site but there is a play area.

Good and walking distance to Henley

Got there on the Friday afternoon and made very welcome by the reception lady. Choice of pitches, so I asked for advice and got into a great pitch. Henley was lively with late night shopping evening which was great fun. Next day walks along the Thames, which nearly blew my head off. Sunday bucketed down so left early. Would recommend every time, on caution if you can don't get a pitch near the road.

Pleasantly surprised

We visited early November for 10 days and after reading some of the reviews were concerned about traffic noise. However, having secured a pitch away from the road we were not bothered at all and no problem with plane noise. The site is well situated, Henley is delightful even on a grim November day, with pleasant walks available along the river bank. We spent a lovely day at Windsor castle and town which is easily reached. On site the soaring Red Kites made for fascinating watching. We will return!

More than just the Regatta

As you would expect, a great site with excellent facilities and very welcoming and helpful staff. Henley is really worth a stroll into town for. Independent shops and some great places to eat and drink. A walk along the river is recommended lots of interest especially if you like rowing! Nearby Marlow is another great place to visit if you can. With excellent local transport connections this is a great site as a base for a range of activities. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

Enjoyable break

We stayed on site for 4 days as a base for visiting the area. Our main reason was to eat at Tom Kerridges Hand & Flowers in Marlow , our son had booked us in at the beginning of February & November 16th was the 1st free table , it was brilliant & we could see why people wait so long to get in.  The weather was pretty inclement, rain & wind but we got out every day & made the most of our time . The site is great , an easy walk into Henley although some of the traffic is a bit fast , the facilities on site were 1st class , very clean toilets & showers , although I did curse one day at the state of the floor in one of them , covered in leaves & mud even though cleaning equipment is provided for the use of campers to tidy up after themselves , some people will always be dirty I suppose. The staff were really friendly & helpful, a credit to the club , we have already recommended the site to our friends & would have no hesitation in using it again if we are in the area.

sundance

Stayed on this site for one night, showers and toilets were very clean and warm. Good sized pitches and not too close together. Wardens very friendly. Only a 10-15 minute walk into Henley along the main road which does not have any street lighting until about half way, recommend you take a torch if out for the evening. Will return in the summer.

Pleasant Autumn Break

Just spent a pleasant week at this site. Good points are easy 15 minute walk into Henley, bus stop just down road from site with busses to Marlow, High Wycombe, Reading etc. Train station in Henley means day trips to London fairly easy with one change at Twyford to get to Paddington. Henley has lots of nice small independent shops & places to eat, a Waitrose supermarket & a small cinema for whiling away the odd wet afternoon watching a film. Slight negative points are the walk into Henley is on a narrow muddy leaf laiden pavement & the road is very busy - caution required especially when dark - take a torch. Also passing vehicles are likely to splash you as water lies in gullies after heavy rain. Pitches backing onto road are noisy - avoid if possible. Don't be put off by these negatives.
