First outing

Our first stay at a caravanclub site (previous night- our first ever in a caravan, was at a CL). Despite arriving at about 1.30pm in early September in lush weather conditions, we found a pitch right at the back of the site, which meant no road noise. I can understand why people say the front pitches are noisy...the drivers do seem to ignore the 40mph limit, especially in their rush to work/school in the mornings - I guess we were lucky in finding a quiet spot. Poor terrestrial TV reception didn't bother us ( booster is available), as we have satellite dish on our caravan. The natives seemed very friendly (wardens as well as fellow campers!) - our two dogs were surprisingly quiet and relaxed. Absolutely exhausted after spending last day walking from camp to Henley to Marlow in glorious sunshine. Be warned, the "Black Boys Inn" pub (where I was desperate for a pint) means you divert off the Thames Path, and then you find its only open on weekends! (we were there Wednesday!!!). I literally cried and dropped to my knees. Ho hum, the Olde Bell in Hurley came to my rescue. An excellent experience with this campsite.
