Extended stay

Another return visit to Ilminster to visit family and enjoy the Somerset countryside. Stayed 19 nights. Wardens do good job of maintaining site and the enclosed dog area was a great idea for our puppy to play. Road access needs signage and requires great care due to restricted vision and fast traffic. Supermarket in Ilminster but do visit it's excellent independent shops, especially butcher and hardware! Don't miss walking at Staple Hill, Castle Neroche and Otterford Lakes as well as numerous places slightly further afield.

Great site for relaxing peace and quite.

This is a good site for a quite stay. Very rural location but close to a main road making getting there easy. The site is rather isolated meaning having transport is an advantage although the surrounding lanes are ok for cycling or walking. A good base for exploring Somerset West Dorset and Devon many seaside town's within easy reach. A word of thanks for the wardens who go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and try to make sure you get the most from your visit. The information cabin is great with plenty of ideas for days out. All in all a very good stay although the weather was hot and sunny which always helps. Would recommend this site and would like to return in the future.

different this time

Have been on this site several times before, but this time found a difference, whilst the facilities was spotless, and the floral display at its best, the grass was long and this was a problem on dewy mornings when you wanted to go to the shower block or too the new dog exercise area. i have never been on a club site with grass kept so long considering most of the pitches are grass. Another feature which let it down was the seasonal caravan near the office with long grass around it. It gave a very bad impression. I agree with previous comments that there should be more signage and a mirror / warning as you try and join the 303.

Lovely Quiet Site

Very clean and quiet site, New Toilet block very good indeed , Small site which makes it ideal for a quiet get away, Stayed 7 nights unfortunately weather was not good at all but enjoyed the peace, I think some form of signage from the A303 would be very helpful, it is quite a tight turn off the very busy and fast road, , Wardens were ok and helpful when required. Not sure if will return though.

Fantastic as always

Our most visited site, this time just a one nighters on our way to Cornwall. As always site was in great condition, credit to the Wardens. Sham the site is not busier the location, facilities and surrounding area deserve it to be. I have marked site down under the good for families section as there is no play area, (suits us), or other facilities for children on site or near by.

Relaxing bolthole

Quiet unfussy site. Well maintained, peace and quiet, walking the quiet little lanes immediately from the site well worth doing, the countryside is beautiful. The convenience of the nearby A road far outweighs the slight noise of traffic at times. Will definitely go again. Wardens great!

Well maintained site.

A very well kept site - the toilet blocks are immaculate. Entrance and exit from/ to the A303 needs extreme caution. A mirror on the other side of the road would be very helpful. The site is quite isolated but well positioned for touring. The Candlelight in the village across the A303 is pleasant and probably the closest and best but not in walking distance. Barrington Court near Ilminster is well worth a visit - a NT property.

Little gem

A lovely quiet site which is kept in immaculate condition by the hard working wardens.Dont think of this site as just a stopover,it is well worth a weeks stay to explore the local area and relax. The toilet and shower facilities are second to none. You can even purchase a cream tea from the wardens office.
