First time on site and not our last, very spacious hard standing pitches with ample room for car, caravan and awning. All amenities within easy reach of our pitch, very quiet and peaceful this time of year ( December ) we will return when the weather is better.
The site Warden was very knowledgeable and attentive to our needs.
Excellent information hut with up to date material on things going on around the area.
Loads of pubs and take aways to choose from should you not wish to cook.
The road up to the site could do with the potholes filling in, but it does keep you to 5mph ! this is by no means a negative aimed at the site, only an observation.
Thank you for a wonderful weekend we will be back next year.
Our stay
Stayed a few nights in November, quiet, clean site only downside was someone had mats hanging in the shower which was a bit of an eyesore and there was washing hanging in laundrette also
A-First
As our visit was the first time we found a warm reception greeting. Owing to the weather we were nice and cosy out of the wind and rain and enjoyed the quiet location away from hustle and bustle of town life, the toilet block was bright and clean and all other amenities were well marked out, we would imagine that the grounds would be very pretty with spring flowers, as at the moment all we saw were hundreds of rabbits which was a shear delight We would recommend Lady Margaret for all holiday makers who enjoy walking

Late November Break
Another great break at this site. The wardens were extremely friendly and helpful and the facilities were spotless.
The area is great for walking and dogs etc. We love to get down to the canal and walk in both directions (different days). Head in Llangollen direction up to Trevor Basin (about 1.5 hour walk) and good pub for food where dogs can go in too (Telford Inn).
No control over weather, but it didn't "dampen" our enjoyment.
Will be back next year.
A real find
We have passed this site many times on the way to Wales but never stayed. We have just been to the WRC rally at Chirk and had a very pleasant stay a the site. Spotless facilities, pleasant and friendly wardens and peaceful setting. What more could you ask for - well the weather could have been better! I would definitely recommend this site and we will be back!

Needed a break and didn't want to go far, good walking particularly in bad weather, miles of canals
Chick castle and grounds on doorstep
Canal pubs are good and welcoming
Local butcher is excellent

Could do better
Like previous reports the servicing block does need updating. I object to people smoking in the toilets in wet weather , these should have no smoking signs in them.
I have a dog and out of respect keep it on the lead only use the dog walk or as is so easy take him off site it's sad to see certain dog owners using the vacant grass pitches as dog loos.
Would I go back yes it's a fantastic location and I could not fault the staff.
One little thing is we were on the lower level and on the next level up was a chemical servicing area this could be approached from our pitch either by a long walk around by steps over some grass or dragging barrels/waste trolleys up a bank. A simple little pathway would save a lot of effort.

Nice Site
We have just returned home from Lady Margaret's Park after 7 nights. The site is clean and well looked after by the wardens. At night all is quiet and the day not too noisy it’s all set out in a way that you can have your own space.
The surrounding area is a walker’s paradise, even when raining.
The biggest downside for me is the toilet block, old and well past its prime. No matter how long anyone cleans or scrubs it will never come up to scratch (silk purse sows ear comes to mind). Don’t get me wrong it is spotlessly clean just well out of date. If the rumours are true and the club is to extend into the lower field please do up the old block.
Why did we wait so long?
It has been many years since we were last at Lady Margaret's Park, why? I don't know. It's only 75 minutes from home. We had such a great time for 9 nights end of October. The site is lovely, well situated and with great walking from site and beyond. We walked the canal both ways day after day - there are no hills on canals which suit just fine! The only disappointing thing was I left my soap bag in the showers (not for the first time!) when I discovered this next day went to the wardens expecting it to have been retrieved by them but no, some thieving B... had nicked it - not what I expect from fellow caravanners. That aside it's a super site and well worth a visit, we certainly won't wait as long before we are back
