Re stay: 28th June 2015 for 4 nights

Very peaceful site within walking distance of Chirk and bus stop to Wrexham, bus fare very reasonable. Surrounded by squirrels and rabbits the dells offer more privacy than the central more open section. Would recommend if you need some peace and quiet.

Relaxing weekend

what a lovely site, exceptionally friendly wardens. I stayed in Bluebell Dell under a canopy of trees, it was peaceful and lovely with the backdrop of the woods behind me. Lovely little dog walk on site. I didnt use the facilities as i used the ones in my camper. Will definitely look forward to returning in the near future.

Doggie heaven !!

Lady Margaret's is one of our favourite sites and we always try and get a visit in each season. We had a really friendly group of wardens who work so very hard but always make time for a chat . Yes the facilities block needs updating but that's on the cards soon so it will be an amazing place when that is done . Our doggies love this site and we don't use the car at all but walk everywhere with them , we love the Tea Rooms in the village that has a lovely dog friendly garden at the back and the walks along the canal are so lovely . We shall return !!!

Lady Margaret's Park

Great site and easy to get to, based in the lovely town of Chirk, staff are pleasant and helpful and the showers and toilets are great. It would be great to have external access points for ariel sockets due to the reception in the area but that does not distract from the qualities of the site. Will be going again for sure.

Cyclists Heaven

After reading the reviews we decided to take a more secluded pitch in the higher area to the left of reception, as the lower pitch area were very busy. The wildlife was lovely with squirrels, birds and rabbits everywhere. We went on the cycle route, and I have to say it was lovely, although beware of the dark tunnel that runs for 180m at the side of the canal. The Aqueduct was amazing, it was fantastic to walk over it with barges coming towards you. Langollen is lovely with lots of lovely shops and tasty treats to buy. Our motorhome pitch was great, spacious with no problems with rabbit poo or holes as mentioned in an earlier review.

Fantastic , friendly , fun and fabulous

Our 1st time at this site and cannot recommend it highly enough. We stayed 7 nights in Primrose Dell on a spacious gravel pitch. On arrival the friendly wardens greeted the kids and gave them a Tourer Explorer pack, sending them off on a treasure hunt while we set up the caravan. The kids loved it and came back with stickers and badges for their effort. The wardens told the kids that if they completed 12 activities from the pack they could come back to claim a slap band each. That kept them busy for 2 days! The site is so peaceful and relaxing, with the rabbits and squirrels a delight to watch. There are some beautiful woodland walks on and around the site and a good walk up to Chirk Castle direct from the site. The toilet block is spotlessly clean and hot water is plentiful. We never had to wait for a shower any time in the 7 days. Yes, the shower cubicles are a little smaller but they are perfectly adequate. One of the highlights of the week was the playday which was organised and run by the wardens. A totally free event, whereby the wardens led a nature hunt in the woods, crazy golf, races, face painting and laid on hot dogs, cakes, biscuits and juice. The 4 wardens were fantastic with kids and adults alike and the afternoon was thoroughly enjoyed by all. All around the site, people say hello to each other and the wardens are particularly friendly and approachable always ready with a smile. My kids were sad to leave this morning and are already asking when they can return. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat in the countryside with abundant wildlife then this is the site for you. Can't wait to return later in the year

Very disappointed and concerned

I have to take into account that our stay was during the first week of the school summer holiday period. No complaint about children on the site, but it was understandably very busy. Along with other visitors I spoke to, we all agreed that the pitches were too small and one felt cramped. they need to reduce the total by about 20% in some areas and about 10% in areas where the pitches are a bit more generous. I know pitches mean money especially in high season, but I did not expect a club site to treat me like a sardine! Pitch 78 where we were located was very tight with adjoining pitches. Because it was very busy, I was advised that I should just take the caravan and pick a pitch. I prefer to walk around a large site first before selecting a pitch. The pitch I chose was not good. Beware of the rabbits!!!They are profuse and leave droppings everywhere and one cannot avoid picking up muck on one's foot-ware. I would seriously warn parents of young children not to let them go bare foot and If they fall over, wash their hands immediately if contaminated with rabbit droppings. Also, there are many, many little pot holes in the ground where the little darlings try and dig burrows on the pitches. This is a trip hazard and unsightly. Location wise the site is very good for visiting the local area. The silent policemen are sharp and could be more rounded to avoid a big bump. The electric connection needs to be turned to the right to engage it. I'd never seen this before in 8 years of caravanning. If I had been informed of this requirement it would have saved me a small trek to the office to enquire why there was no electricity when I plugged in the cable. Overall was the rabbit problem. I consider it a gross nuisance, a big health hazard and my advice is they need to cull the rabbits. They are not pets and have reached a large population. They are tantamount to vermin and spoil the site immensely. The management need to act on this during the close season. Enough said.

Disappointed

After staying at the site for the weekend. We were annoyed with the lack of privacy with people walking between the pitches. The amount of children racing bicycles around the site between the awning and car, one child fell off by the side of our awning when he could not take the corner at the speed he was riding. We will not be returning to the site
