Lovely location

Returned for two nights after previously been for a one-night stop-over, because there's a wealth to explore in the area from this pretty site. In fact will be returning. Can't comment on the bathroom facilities as I use my own in campervan. To all those other reviewers who didn't like them: try going behind a hedge with a shovel. It's camping, for heaven's sake.

LOVELY WEEKEND STAY

A few days before arriving at this site, I checked the reviews and as shocked to read about the toilet facilities. Yes, they are dated, but disagree with the "slating" that people have been giving them - try staying on Freshwater site and you will see what is in desperate need of updating. The staff on this site were lovely - I had not a too nice experience of coming across a male in the lady's toilet and complained at the office and the warden dealt with the matter straight away . We were also lucky enough to have a late stay. It is a long time ago since we visited this site and it was lovely to come back to it - forgot how nice and peaceful it was. We had a lovely trip into shrewsbury and on the way back we visited the poachers pub - a marstons pub for our tea which was lovely - so nice that we went back the following night when family came to visit for the day. Will definitely be visiting this site again. By the way, I used the annex shower facilities and found no problems with the water pressure and at least on the caravan club site you know they are cleaned on a daily basis. Looking forward to visiting again in the near future.

Not upto Standard.

We stay on this site two or three times a year as we regard it as one of the best on the network but I'm afraid the facilities we're very poor, the water pressure was non existent, the wardens we're informed but no action to rectifying the problem. May I suggest an outside professional come in to sort it out ASAP....? And to top it off it's Peak prices make this unacceptable, we're there again in October to which improvement needs to be made.  Standards over recent years were spot on and very enjoyable but travelling with a young child the facilities need to be working to a standard to which we pay for.

nice site

a nice site in the woods, nice walks with the dog, close to the canals and canal boats, about a mile from the village and a mile and a half from the castle. The facilities are in dire need of an upgrade, the showers have very little water pressure and not enough room inside the cubicle.

A shame

Having stayed at many caravan club sites over the years I have grown to expect high standards with regard to the toilet blocks. Weekend 28th -31st August 2015 I booked lady Margaret's park in Chirk North Wales as it's one site I have never visited.  Accompanied by two guest. One of which is disabled I again expected high quality facilities especially as it's a busy popular site and paying over £100 for the weekend.  The site itself is In a great location but when it came to having a shower we were very disappointed.  It appeared dated and in need of a revamp along with no water pressure, it's a trickle at best.  Although the idea of a separate toilet annex is a great asset. On one occasion there were only 3 people in the shower blocks and the water dropped out half way through my wife's shower, leaving her to swap cubical to try and rinse off.  Not good caravan club !!! This was mentioned to the staff who were nice about it but offered no solution just the excuse of "it's bank holiday weekend and were full"  Poor excuse !!!! 21st century cc come on. If this was a hotel I would be asking for a refund of some sort. Can we please have some improvement ? Secondly, very poor tv signal, install tv points.  Please move with the times or you'll loose customers who pay a lot over the year.  Thanks Dave & Tracy.

Disappointing 2

We have stayed on this site 4 -5 times in the last 10 years. This is a popular site in a good location, but there is little evidence that the Club have spent any money on the site recently. The loo block is tired and in need of a re-refurbishment.   The shower controls were worn out with poor volume and temperature - and I was the only person having a shower!  TV reception poor, some pitches dirty and cramped.  Wardens however were very nice as usual, so please give this site a much needed up-grade !

disappointing

Great location...but...kids play area is just a slide in a wooden frame, no TV reception at all on our pitch, bathrooms and showers are dirty with peeling paint and very tired, caravans crammed together with little space between.  Been to better listed sites for a 1/3 of the price.

Stop 3 on the Wales tour

Arriving at Lady Margaret's Park to a friendly welcome, usual well informed wardens. We found the facilities lacking, the floors were constantly covered in grass, the showers could do with some work, hardly any pressure in any of them. (I understand they have been earmarked for renovations). It is walking distance into Chirk, with its shops & pubs and various eateries. 2 recommendations are the Anisa Indian take away, (deliver to site free of charge) and the Butcher, we bought some lovely produce for a very reasonable price.

One Night Stay in Lady Margaret's Park

We only stayed here for one night in August but we found it pleasant enough. We were in the wooded Primrose area which had a spacious feel. There is a really good dog walk and our son enjoyed hanging out around the castle play area which was in a nice grassy area with picnic benches. There are lots and lots of rabbits on this site! This might be an issue for you if you have a dog that goes mental at the site of them. We would stay here again but probably for no more than a few nights.
