Visit 26th to 31st August

This is a lovely site in the Scottish lowlands which is in a lovely location, it is well run and has the best shower facilities I have ever used when Caravanning they are in a bathroom format where you have a self contained Lavatory, washbasin and shower all as a unit.

Probably the prettiest site.

We have just returned from meeting friends for the weekend at the site. I won't repeat all the positive comments previously posted,  but would like to add its a very pretty site, with a duck pond nicely dividing the site and its a credit to its owners. We had excellent EE and 3 mobile coverage but 2G so no Internet but the site Internet which is purchased at the office worked well (maybe not mega fast) but you can keep in touch if it's important to you. The site fell silent at night (apart from a long eared owl ... anyway) Will we use again. .. definitely!

Well kept and friendly Site

Stayed here for 5 nights from 5th August and found the site and village very quiet the Site it's self is immaculately kept and has first class facilities. The village is a treat to walk through with lot's off good walks from the site and nearby, the local shop was well stocked and the butchers is very good and worth a visit. There are some very interesting roads and excellent views between the site Hawick and Jedburgh. Wardens on the site are very helpful and pleasant. Just booked 10 nights in September

A gem of a site

Weve just had 2 weeks on Lidalia and enjoyed our stay immensly. The site is quiet peaceful and so clean. Even the graa is swept daily to remove gravel! The facilities are so clean and the staff are extremely helpful. The village is a real haven away from the rigors of everyday life. There are numerous walks direct from the site through wonderful countrside or sit in your van and enjoy the wildlife around the site. We will return next year to enjoy the tranquility.

the pefect site

We spent 2 nights here after touring around Scotland for a month. What a site and how pleasant and helpfull the owners were. Our motorhome was having mechanical problems and needed recovering. Mick advised on the pitch with the best access for a recovery vehicle and later allowed us to store our trailer there as the recovery truck was not big enough to take it. The facilities are the best we have seen and the site is a great credit to the owners. We are looking forward to returning to collect the trailer and staying for another couple of days. This will be a site where we will return on a regular basis.

Wonderful site

We stayed here in June as our first stop in Scotland. We were warmly welcomed and help was on hand if needed. The toilet and shower block were superb and the site was peaceful - it was the birds who made the most noise! Wifi was excellent and not expensive and we would definitely recommend this site to others. Well done Lidalia

5 stars are not enough

A superb site run by a family who do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. In a lovely village so, midges permitting, there are lots of short walks for those of us of long age!

Brilliant

We have stayed at lidalia twice now, we think it's one of the best sites out. Toilet block is the best we have found, staff brilliant and a great location. Nice small village with 3 pubs, shop and butchers/bakers. Short drive to Keilder, this is a far better site than Keilder. I thought about not putting a review on and keeping this to ourselves, it's that good!!!

A hidden gem

We stayed 3 nights in May and found Lidalia to be really nice. Spacious gravel pitches (but bring strong steel pegs if you have an awning!). Well kept site. Clean facilities, with nice 'all-in-one' toilet shower and sink. Several good dog walks straight from the site. Friendly and helpful owners. One downside: the Wifi is difficult to log in to and very slow. Mobile network is a good 2G. Newcastleton itself is a nice friendly village. Best pub is the Grapes. No real ale there (or anywhere else nearby) but friendly efficient staff, food a bit better than the usual pub fare (and they do take-aways), also very dog-friendly. Lots to do in the vicinity if you like the outdoors. Kielder is only 20 minutes drive, there are plenty of walking and biking trails on the doorstep.
