Plenty of ducks and rabbits and Gerald the peacock. Walks from the site are a must even along the river.. Nothing to complain about at all.. Oh ! don't bother coming if you want internet or 20 tv channels co you ain't gunna get them.Stop at home if that's what you want...

Lovely peaceful stay

This is our second stay at this site while visiting family in the area. Good approach as long as you follow the guidance & arrive after 12 - you don't want to be meeting another outfit in the narrow lane! All 4 wardens very pleasant & helpful. Good choice of pitches as late season. Just so peaceful which is the main draw for us, no road noise just the quacking of ducks! A nice natural site - not clinical such as the Southport or Bridlington type sites. Lots of wildlife about which adds to the naturalness of the site. Toilets & showers kept nice & clean. Easy walk or drive into Leyburn for provisions. A lovely coffee house within Tennants Auction house just up the road. A great site if you are after peace & quiet.

Lower Wensleydale

Stayed at this site for the weekend. Loved it, so peaceful. Wild rabbits and ducks roam free around the site which is great. The site staff were all friendly and helpful. Lovely peaceful scenic site. Would definitely return.

Wildlife Everywhere

Have stayed at Lower Wensleydale Site several times now and have always loved it the ducks and rabbits and now a peacock bring so much pleasure ,obviously they also do make quite a bit of noise, the ducks that is, we think they add character to the site. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and keep the site lovely and clean even in very wet conditions as we experienced.

Debut of a newbee

Last weekend was my first time ever with a caravan. As a complete novice, I was a bit concern about the access to the site, but it was absolutely fine. The warden was very helpful, and even funny with my ability to park the van "spot on"...with the help of the movers :-). The site is very nice, peaceful and picturesque. There's a nice walk to The Pheasant Inn, and if you follow the road, to the nice village of Leyburn (just one mile away). Just watch out the train! The service (toilets, showers) are clean, the staff is helpful, and even the ducks are friendly!. We'll definitely come back soon!

A wonderful welcome

What can we say, we received a fantastic welcome from Sue and Mike who were so helpful, having just collected our camper from the builders we were a bit frazzled when we got to the site but Mike and Sue were diamonds, nothing was too much trouble, a lovely walk to the village with tea rooms and a great Butchers plus the Friday market, with a visit by the Peacock, ducks and bunnies you will be Quackers and hopping mad not to stay at this site.

One of The Best

We stopped at this site and was nearly put off with the review on the "One Way System". But I can honestly say that this was not an issue if you respect others to leave before 12pm. The site is absolutely great and full of wildlife. The ducks during the day are so nice to see and the Steam train that comes past. The walk to Leyburn takes 10 mins at a steady pace and the scenery is good. There is a shortcut foot path at the bottom of the site. All pitches are different which gives a good difference from other club sites. Certainly one for our family to return too. And the wardens were really helpful and friendly.

Review from a certain perspective

As a single traveller with two spaniels I appreciated being charged per adult. All sites should consider this as the norm. Much more equitable for all.  The site was easy to find and very well presented on arrival. It was quite full although a lot of seasonal pitches were taken in sunny spots! It was a lovely weekend and I was in the shade! The facilities were excellent.  The path to Leyburn of about a mile was along the busy main road and neither me or my dogs appreciated it. I drove in on the next occasion and did a fantastic dog friendly round walk via Wensley of about 10 miles.  Plenty of cafes and pubs to sit outside in Leyburn. Not sure if they would allow dogs inside.  Despite it not being a holiday period, it was a lovely sunny weekend and Wensleydale and its environs were rammed. Nowhere to park in Reeth! All full.  I left my numbered pitch to drive in to town and found someone had taken a fancy to it on my return! Surely it's not beyond the wit of man to come up with a system of allocating numbered pitches? My only grumble really.  Would I return? Yes but only midweek and definitely not in holiday time. There is lots of potential walking but I would have to drive to get there as the road is too narrow and too busy for dogs to walk safely.
