Spotless and quiet

Having just returned from a 4 night stay (28th Oct - 1st Nov), we thought we would share our experience of this site. I totally agree with all the other reviews. The lovely friendly welcome from the relief wardens was excellent. As this was our very first proper outing in our first motorhome, they were so helpful. They gave us a choice of pitches, which were huge and very tidy. I opted for the pitch near to the sevice point, which had slightly low water pressure, but hey, that is being picky. Everything on site was spotlessly clean. The toilet/shower blocks were excellent and had plenty of hot water.  Minehead only 15 minutes walk away, but a few minutes walk down the road you can find a great Coop and takeaways.  Overall, what a great site that we will surely be back to again and again.

Somerset Special

Super site - very easy to find and well signposted, lovely friendly wardens, site is spotless and the dog walk was thoroughly enjoyed by our Jack Russell. As people have said, it's I nan old quarry, which virtually eliminates any traffic noise, but does involve a short hill climb from the toilet block. The pitches themselves are very level. Very convenient for all shops and take-aways, lovely long walks, Butlins and the West Somerset Railway. No play area for children, but we hadn't got any, so from our point of view, a perfect site which we plan to revisit.

A little treasure

Access to this site is easy with a wide sweeping entrance directly off the A39. The wardens are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble.  All pitches are hard standing set out in separate areas.  The site is in an old quarry and slopes considerably which would make staying for the less mobile among us a little difficult. Most pitches are sloping so expect to do some levelling. A Co-op is within walking distance along with numerous takeaways.  Larger supermarkets are Morrisons and Tesco just a short drive away. Mobile signal on Orange and Tesco good as was the digital TV reception. Marvelous wooded dog walk on site too.

amazing stay

We stayed 26/27 october for the two night.......it rained most of the day 27th, BUT, that was the only bad part of the stay, site was a very clean, tidy and quiet site, wardens were LOVELY (to the point when I told the husband my wife wanted to sell motorhome and give it up the warden (wife), talked my wife out of it :) . If like us you dont like going far from motorhome this place is perfect,  minehead is a nice 15 min walk away, a nice pub just up the road and a spar, fish and chip/takeaways just outside the camp, thank you to the wardens for a great short break and I really hope to see you again in our Bailey 760se once we have gone to Pembrey as recommended.

Minehead

Been twice to this site great place to look around the area, wardens helpfull, clean toilet block, except  one late evening some one had used the shower and looked like they had washed off there boots and not cleaned up!! Why can't people clean up after them selves, if they are going to leave a mess? Great place for walking the dogs, town and beach all within walking distance, Tesco and morrisons short drive away, a short walk to the co op just down  the road and the chip shop. some have complained about the trees in there reviews, we found no problem where we were pitched, it all depends where you are on the site, to how much sun you get. The  only thing I am suprise about is there is no automated barrier to keep the site a bit more secure.! Will be back there in the future.

Lovely Site and Helpful Wardens

We have just returned from a lovely family weekend break.  Lovely site, cleanliness is very good and lovely wardens. You can walk to Minehead only takes about 10/15 minutes nice not to have to take the car out. Recommend Alcombe fish & chips just up the road. Would definitely go back to this site again for a family weekend break.

Autumn Tranquility

We have just returned from our annual visit to this lovely little site. Everything at this site is so accessible which makes for a very relaxing holiday. The trees on the site were turning to lovely autumn tints and you could hear and occasionally see the Deer in the surrounding wood and often hear the Bucks snorting after the Doe's as it was the Rutting time now. From this site you can walk into Minehead within 10 minutes, this was handy for us as we were able to watch the Rugby on the big screen in The Hairy Dog pub and the on to The Stones Hotel/Restaurant for a meal. The Wardens here are also lovely helpful  people. In all a lovey site.

Very good

We have now been to this site three times. We find it lovely for exploring the area. Public transport is very good. A lovely seaside town.
