good location

Only gave it one star on good for families as were are just a couple and it would not let me leave it blank. The site is in a very good location, not so keen on the levels as we were on the top one and quite a distance to the facilities. The warden was very friendly and welcoming

Good but not great

We've just returned from 11 nights staying at the site. I can't really explain why I've given only 3 stars but somehow it didn't 'wow' us. The site is clean and tidy and the toilet block was very clean. Location-wise, it's handy for shops and food takeaway outlets, and walking into town or to the seafront is easy (easy to walk in than back, as it's uphill on the way back!). The site is separated into 3 or 4 separate areas - we were quite close to the road and did have some road noise, but not overly intrusive. The pitches were not very flat - I had to drop the jockey wheel to it's lowest to get level. Our pitch sloped quite steeply front to back and also sloped side to side! As the site is in an old quarry it's not got any views to talk about, although you do get plenty of birds in the trees. Dog walk is very good

late review

We spend a very pleasant week in early August at this site although the weather could have been kinder. It is a very clean and cared for site with very helpful and friendly wardens. Excellent location for the town center and beach only minutes away by car and within walking and cycling distance. This is our third visit and have not been disappointed.

Lovely site but....

Yes a lovely site in a superb location which is really only a 15 min. walk into Minehead, what's not mentioned, however is that its all up hill coming back ! Site is spotlessly clean and set in areas on different levels, we were at the back of the site which was lovely and quiet, but again it was all up hill  and dragging the aquaroll full of water back to our van is not for the feint hearted !! Sadly the tall trees shielded us from the sun most of the day whilst those below us were basking in the sunshine. So if possible choose your pitch carefully.

Another relaxing break

Visited again and left happy and relaxed. We know what to expect but unfortunately you cannot avoid using the uppermost pitches if that is all that's left. We found there was no sun only shade and a feeling of dampness. Do not be put off by this comment as the positives outweigh this negative. Wardens great, facilities clean tidy and warm. The surrounding area offers so much to do. Will defiantly use again but hoping that the next time we will not have to use the uppermost pitches.

Hilly site

Nice site but on slope, three different levels. Lovely showers and toilet facilities. near to center Minehead.

Gem of a site

Just back from this site, spent 4 nights there and what a wonderful surprise it was! The wardens were extremely friendly and helpful. This site is small and nestled amongst trees so feels secluded but the main road is nearby and there is some traffic noise. It's a 15 minute easy walk into Minehead, with both Tesco and Morrisons a short walk away from the site. Dunster Village and castle is an easy walk from the camp site, well worth seeing! As the site is open all year round I will definitely return over autumn/winter.

Small quiet site

This is a small quiet site with easy access to Minehead ten to fifteen minutes stroll. A number of pitches are not level and levelling blocks are required. We also found the site to be exceptionally dark at night and feel that extra lighting should be considered. The facilities are maintained to the very high standards we all expect on club sites and the wardens are very welcoming and helpful. Would certainly revisit in the future.

Awful!

We booked for 7 days and ended up staying just 1 night! The site is claustrophobic-it's like you're sitting in a quarry! Spent the rest of our week at Hurn Lane, where we could breathe.

Good Site

Stayed here in mid-August. Just under a mile to the beach. Parking in Minehead didn't cause us a problem. Minehead is a lovely seaside town - long sandy beach, not too "kiss me quick", nice pubs/restaurants/shops. Lots of great things to do in local area. Usual high standards of cleanliness in toilets/showers and never queued despite the full site. Wifi connection was poor - kept dropping off - BUT had 4g with EE all day and night!
