Site Access

Unfortunately the access to/from this site from the A38 is exceptionally stressful. I departed the site at about 10am and expected to be able to get to the A38 without too much traffic approaching from the other direction. This was not the case. The volume of traffic was extremely high. This included delivery vans, cars and then a refuse collection lorry appeared over the brow of a hill on a bend at the narrowest part of the road taking up three quarters of the width of the road. No passing places were available and due to volume of traffic reversing was not an option. The occupants of the refuse lorry remained glued to their seats. My only option was to unhitch the caravan and manually manouvre the caravan to enable the lorry to move on. Fortunately one other driver did assist but as a solo traveller this can be very challenging as the use of mirrors is impossible. There are no passing places with the exception of field entrances and entrances to other properties. None are long enough for car and caravan. For this reason alone I would not use this site again.

First and Foremost I certainly do not agree with the general rating of the site the peace and quiet is not a problem we thought it was wonderfully peaceful  - the facilities are fine if not requiring a little up dating. Good for families - it is wonderful we have stayed here 3 times now the first 2 with kids it is wonderful - so many beaches to play on.

I note the original reviewer was a sole traveller and perhaps at the wrong time of year it may have been a little noisy.

Turning now to the access - it can be a problem - however from experience there are passing places and cars and vans are not really a problem. Lorries can be a little problem - my tip would be to travel as we did early evening and we got to the A38 with out any problem at all.

I would say that we have been out quite a few times this year Cornwall, North Devon and South Devon all have there tight lane problems.

Ah, the delights of Devon lanes. I know it's featured in other reviews too.

Your review states you are from Cornwall - how can you criticise narrow lanes in Devon - that is most definitely off line.
