Nice location, handy for buses into Winchester or New Alresford, nice village and handy for the Watercress Railway Line. The site is nicely laid out with very spacious pitches. Without exception the staff were amazing.
Great site
We had a three night stay in our motorhome.
Having not visited the site before, we were very happy with it.
Had a great walk over the South Downs into Winchester.
Took the bus to Alresford and went on the Watercress Line steam railway to Alton and back. Had good dinner at the Bell Inn in Alresford afterwards.
The site was very clean.
The showers were immaculate, plenty of hot water.
All the wardens were very friendly and helpful.
Would definitely return again to do some more exploring.

First class site in great location
Fabulous refurbished site. Pitch was level, facilities look new and are immaculate. Site is well laid out with very friendly and helpful staff. Good motorhome service point with easily accessible waste point. Very easy access to and from the M3. Didn't notice any road noise whatsoever on our 2 night stay, despite the relative closeness of the A31. A busy site, even at the beginning of October), so worth booking ahead at peak times and probably weekends.
Benefit of the A31 being so close is that the bus stop is an easy 5 minute stroll from the site. Buses run to and from Winchester on a regular basis, which is the easiest way to travel to Winchester. Can thoroughly recommend a visit to Winchester Cathedral and the free tours that are available.
Site is also very well placed for an overnight stopover if catching the ferry from Portsmouth.
Will certainly be visiting here again as want to complete the cycle route that is a 25m loop taking in the River Itchen north of Winchester.
Immaculate site
This was my third visit and I wasn’t disappointed. The site is absolutely immaculate - large level pitches that are beautifully kept, and first class refurbished facilities which were spotless. The wardens were lovely, as always, smiling and saying hello at every opportunity. The site was fully booked yet didn’t feel busy at all. I love this place and will keep coming back.
Helpul Wardens
We stayed here for one night on our trip home from France. Following a tiring drive in France and then a ferry we arrived in the evening to find that the one 'awning pitch' that remained free was in a part of the site that wouldn't guarantee a quiet nights sleep away from the worst of the site lighting. The women on duty that evening quickly swapped us to a free 'non-awning' pitch and advised a quiet area of the site. We had a good restful night before another long journey the following day. Thanks very much to both of them. This is a site we use a few times a year and we always find the site and facilities to be maintained to a high standard.
First class conveniently located site
Having lived in the area we had never stayed at Morn Hill. However returning to visit friends the location was ideal.
We found the site to be immaculate and well maintained with friendly helpful staff. Our hardstanding pitch (lower site) was of a good size and level.
You can hear traffic noise but we did not find it intrusive. What you think will depend on your tolerance level.
Like the way the shower block has been refurbished. Not the standard cream!
For people new to the area there are many areas to walk and cycle and places to see eg, Wincheater, Portsmouth historic dockyard, Hinto Ampner (NT) and Jane Austens house Chawton.
Quick and easy access from M3.

Handy
Yes this site has been refurbished, very nice too. Facilities were excellent. Yes the traffic noise from the dual carriage however we were on the serviced pitches in the dip. Noise levels not so bad as the upper site. Being motorhomers the essential item for us is public transport. The bus service to Winchester is regular so a great stay
Lovely site near Winchester
Firstly we have to say we cannot understand people complaining about the road noise. When booking any campsite surely you look at the location, so you'd know it's by the busy A31 !!
Yes there's road noise, but it's only motorbikes that can be annoying, we all know that !
Refurbished facilities are lovely.
Pitches well spaced out, and a small dedicated dog walking area on the lower site section.
Easy access into Winchester. We chose the Chesil Car park, a 5 minute walk to the bottom of the town.
Had a good 40 minute walk to a brilliant dog friendly pub The Golden Lion. Food was delicious and they accommodated gluten free choices, though not the best we've had was good.

A great location, fantastic new toilet block but so noisy!
First the good stuff:
The site is kept in really good order. It's not what I would describe as a "pretty" site in terms of trees and hedging etc but it's clearly functional and well maintained. The brand new toilet/shower blocks are quite exceptional and probably the best I have seen in any club site. The staff are friendly and helpful. The site is in a great position if you don't want to use your car to get out and about. The 64 bus stop is about a 5 minute walk away from the site entrance. On one side of the road the bus goes into Alton and on the other side it goes into Winchester. The buses go every 30 minutes or so.
The bad stuff;
The site is very close to the A31 road. There is a lot of traffic noise from first light to late at night. We are not just talking about a distant "rumble" either. Some cars and especially motorbikes delight in screaming up the road as if it were a race track. There is also a nearby gun club that adds the sounds of shotguns to the cacophony.
Its a real shame. The site has a great deal going for it but if you are looking for a peaceful break in the countryside lulled to sleep at night by the sounds of nature this is probably not the site for you.
Lovely location for Winchester
A lovely site, we were here a month ago and could see where a previous reviewer was coming from with regards weeds and the pitches but not enough to make a comment. The whole site though is now looking lovely and the weed/grass issue on hard standings is gone. The bus to Winchester is a 5 minute walk and every 30 minutes during the day. We would recommend the Taste of Gurkhas near the bus stop and the Gurkhas Inn a short distance from the Gurkha museum (also well worth a visit). The Tourist Information tours were well worth doing. In short there is a weeks worth of activities (including a Science Centre) in Winchester itself never mind the surrounding area. The staff are really friendly. There was a jacket potato truck one evening which was lovely and good value. I booked grass pitches for one booking and separately a hard standing for the last night but when I arrived they were able to accommodate my desire to be hard standing for the whole time and it was no problem to change pitch after the first night to one more suitable. The off lead dog walk isn't massive but has trees and activities to keep dogs interested and shaded from the hot sun. The facilities are new and spotless and we would definitely recommend it.
