Away from the rat race

A lovely quiet site. Well kept by such friendly wardens. Who needs toilet blocks when we have our own? The site would benefit from a few hard standings it was pretty soggy making it difficult for motor homes not to churn it up. An ideal spot for visiting the stunning Northumberland National Park.

Loved it

I told the warden we'd be back and we meant it. Seldom do places live up to the all too often over elaborated descriptions but this one does. Peace and tranquillity really do exist here. The whole place was kept very well. Having no toilet block would be a problem to some people and maybe families in particular. It's in a very inspiring area, away from it all and yet just a short drive away from some really interesting towns. The owls hooted at night, The air was as sweet as wine, I think I heard a pin drop once, And there was no sense of time. It's so good to know, That such places still exist, We were sad when we had to go, But it's top of our revisit list.

Wonderful site

A wonderful tranquil site. Very well kept and cared for by the lovely wardens who work hard to keep it pristine. At night there's just the sound of owls to be heard. Nine days there and the weather was mostly very good during the day though quite a lot of rain on a few nights. Despite pitches being all grass the ground didn't become sodden. The sound of the babbling river was very pleasant. Would like to say a big thank you to the wardens for helping us so generously with our very old dog. Hope to be back to one of our favourite parts of the world.

Heaven on earth

What a wonderful site, so quiet and tranquil. No facilities but with an all singing and dancing van who needs them. The site was beautifully kept with lovely pleasant wardens. Site a little damp as in valley bottom by river. Had a week there which just wasn't enough to see this wonderful area, so clean and pretty everywhere. Rothbury was like stepping back in time, wonderful. The people there are so friendly and genuine. On site there were some lovely northeners that were seasonal, lovely folk. Definately going back there.

Love this site

Back again for an 8 night stay. Loved it, my favourite site. Staff are always friendly. It's a well kept site but the best part is the tranquility. We come here every year usually 2 or 3 times but it was our first visit this year so we had a full week. Went for a walk along Bamburgh beach, round Cragside and visited Wallington Gardens again. Even managed to have a couple of lazy sunbathing days when we first arrived. Heavenly, what more could you want. Cannot really put an opinion on facilities as there are none.

Heaven

The quietest most relaxing site ever (but don't tell anyone). A perfect spot to unwind after a hectic week working for the NHS. Why oh why can't it stay open all year, this would be a beautiful site in the winter. Thank you so much to the wonderful friendly wardens for making the site so pretty and welcoming.

Peace and quiet aplenty

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights. The site was very easy to find. Pitching up was a doddle, even in the pouring rain. The pitches all appear level. There is no toilet block which isn't a problem. The site is well kept, with plenty of wild life about. We even saw and heard an owl through the night. Rothbury is close by with local shops and a lovely walk by the river. We'll definitely be back, I break was just what we needed.

Just passing

We had to visit friends near Rothbury on our way  up to Scotland.again we choose to use nunnykirk site for the location and convenience. It's a lovely peaceful site and when your walking the dogs down the dog walk you could be anywhere it's so quiet. The staff are excellent and the site is well looked after its a credit to the club. Will be going again in the future.

A beautifully kept, quiet and peaceful site. Plenty of space all around. Friendly, helpful wardens. Plenty to do in the area. Cragside and Wallington Hall both very much worth a visit.
