Lovely peaceful site

This is a lovely little site - nice big pitches with plenty of space to enjoy the surroundings. Although there's not a lot for kids to do, we brought bikes for ours and they loved cycling 'round the site visiting the different fields and going over the bridges. The service areas are clean and well maintained. 16A electric hook-up. Watch for where the sun sets / rises as we managed to pick the only shady spot on the site - d'oh! Also, the narrow access road isn't a problem at all. The road is very short and there's a passing place half way where you can *almost* see both ends of the road - I was expecting to have to reverse our caravan 3 miles down a bendy path... but no, it's fine. Don't arrive 1 minute after 12pm if you don't want to run the risk of running into someone coming the opposite direction. If this genuinely bothers you then I'd suggest arriving after 1 or 2pm. Cragside is well worth a visit. Good Co-Op at Rothbury for provisions and a great little swimming pool if you fancy a dip! Will definitely return.

Friendly and Relaxing

The peace and tranquilty is only disturbed by the noise of the wldlife and livestock.... just perfect.... the weather was good to us - which helps at this grass site. The wardens are super, and need to be thankedfor the great job they do. :-) Enjoy!

Relaxing and peaceful

Nunnykirk is just the tonic to relieve stress and unwind. We spent just two nights here and wish it could have been much longer! Relief wardens were friendly and helpful. Wildlife abundant. Short trip to Rothbury for country shopping, restaurants and the wonderful Cragside House! Thoroughly recommended.

Don't tell everyone

This is a lovely site the wardens are welcoming and friendly. we always thought that the leaving time was before 12.00 and arrival time not until 2.00pm. This would ease the problem as I do worry when arriving and leaving but apart from that this is a little gem of a site with lots to do around and about. Lots of birds around the site and lovely walks nearby. mmm Just perfect for relaxing!

Week 7 of 9

Lovely site but something needs to be done about the times of arrival and departure We arrived just after another unit, so there were two of us in the narrow entrance lane at just after noon, but another unit was leaving and it caused some confusion, the wardens didn't want to help either, so whilst there was a discussion going on about who could move. And who couldn't, another unit arrived. All was well in the end, but the article also and departure times seemed to be very lax. the wardens comments were that Head office had told them to be flexible regarding leaving times. Would probably not visit again due to that problem

Total Solitude

A warm welcome on arrival even though we were terribly late due to work commitments, this site is perfect for complete peace and quiet, well kept by the wardens, everyone friendly, TV recep not great due to location so be sure to bring your cable to tap into the club sites point on EHU bollards, every pitch is a nice pitch, great for dogs, a bit quiet for the kids if your bringing them, fully recommend you visit. We will deffo be back, love the hospitality of the Geordies xx

gem of a site

stayed here last week for 7 nights... very friendly welcome from wardens...weather wasn't at it's best all week so we never got to see the famous dark night sky in Northumberland but we enjoyed our stay very much... so peaceful and quiet... no road noise... friendly resident pheasant and a super dog walk.. We hope to be back and luckier with the weather as it is such a beautiful part of the world... well done wardens for making it such a friendly clean and welcoming place

Love the solitude

My second time and won't be my last. Lovely welcome from the warden and told us clearly of pitch availability and location. Great location no far from Simonside Hills, Rothbury, and a short trip to the beach and ideal place for taking a dog with so many options a grabbing a bit of the Northumbrian countryside. With Cragside and Wallington Hall nearby a must for National |trust members. Will definitely be coming back more often. No facilities on site but with everything in the caravan it doesn't really matter and as a result great value for money.

If you like remote

This is a lovely site if you are happy to be well away from the madding crowd and don't mind the lack of a toilet block. There are plenty of lovely walks and scenery to enjoy and waking up to see deer grazing 30 yards from the caravan is a delight. The wardens were very helpful and friendly - nothing too much trouble. A great stay.
