Relaxing Site

Just returned from a lovely weekend at Pandy. The wardens are so welcoming and helpful . They keep the site and facilities in pristine condition. My dogs loved the dog walk area for a forage and splash in the river. Really interesting for them. Beautiful area with nice walks and the quaint town of Abergavenny a few minutes away. Will definately return here to re-charge the batteries. Oh, and Trains? What trains. After the first 2 didn't notice them again.

Our new 'go to'weekend site

This site is a gem. It is a credit to the wardens and is in a fab location. Many people have referred to the noise made by passing trains but after staying at Tredegar park the night before and its M4 noise. The noise from the passing trains was almost imperseptable. The neaby pub is under new management and its food was expensive but outstanding. What more could we want ???

Immaculately kept site

The wardens, Bill and Julie, go out of their way to be helpful and maintain the site and facilities to a very high standard. Some people may be troubled by the noise of the sprinter trains but tbh you're more likely to be woken early in the morning by the chorus of birdsong! Some great walks directly from the site and a bus stop (for buses to Abergavenny or Hereford) by the pub about 100m from site entrance. Be aware, there's no sign on the main road directing you to the site so if it's your first visit look out for the turning by the Pandy Inn. Just a thought, it would be useful if the disabled toilet could be left unlocked for all to use when the shower blocks are closed for cleaning.

A peaceful week away:

We have recently spent teh spring half term here inPandy and had a wonderful peaceful week, with great weather, excellent facilities and oustanding staff. The three local pubs had great food and superb beer. Abergavenny Market was an interesting day out. Will definately be returning to Pandy

Good location for touring round

Stayed here for the first time . What a superb site. Handy base for touring round the Brecons, Hereford area and Ross on Wye etc. Spotlessly clean facility block and the whole site was clean and well maintained. The wardens Bill and Julie are two of the friendliest people you could meet and seem to be on the go all the time. We pitched on the railway side and although the trains run at night we did not get disturbed at all.Probably not an ideal site for families with younger children but if you don't mind not having shops and entertainment on the doorstep then this is for you. Will certainly return.

Easy access site with great wildlife

Reasonably sized site with good access. Clean and tidy toilet block but a bit dated. Good dog walk on site but good field walk opposite. Local pub is acceptable but under new management and a little pricey now. Some areas of the site seem crowded and layout means some cars need to be parked in front of vehicles so looks a bit hap hazard. Staff very helpful and friendly. This site has wifi but it is very under powered and meant that we were unable to use it at bust times as many people streaming TV etc. We were right by the mast as well!! It is annoying when you have paid for a years wifi on sites and you cant get it. This is no reflection on the site itself and the wardens. We will be back again....

Pandy Site

What a little gem of a site. Small and well kept by the lovely new wardens that are the most accommodating I have come across. Yes the train line is close but don't really notice it and the toilets are not brand new but are spotless and the showers are great. Would highly recommend and the dog walk is very good too. Will definitely be back.

Pandy

We have been visiting this site for many years. We loved the site and area, it's a beautiful part of Wales, the site in the main is quiet the occasional train does bring a lot of noise with it but this kind of adds to it especially when a 'steam special' travels past. Abergavenny is a nice town, and you have access to the black mountains etc. The only failing are the shower blocks they look very tired and dated I hope that the club has plans for a refurb because the site could do with it. We spent a week there recently and the bits life is amazing from woodpeckers to a dipoer all were seen at the site, loved it...if only the showers were better....the staff are wonderful and very helpful. If you have never been there pay it a visit.

First visit and first site of our tour

Such a lovely welcome by the wardens, so helpful and informative. Pitched by the river and it was delightful. Great dog walk and perfect for our dogs as they loved the paddle and space to run. As others have mentioned there is a rail link very close but this did not detract from our visit. We only stayed two nights to break up the journey but it's a place we would come back to. The facilities are probably ready for a revamp but the usual spotlessly clean facilities. We never used the pub near to the site for eating so cannot comment on the quality but it is very convenient for people who wish to eat out. Would definately use the site again.
