First Class Site

This site is ideally placed as a stopover if travelling down south or to the North.  We also use it for part of our holiday as we love the cycling along the Canals or along the cycle/walk ways which go for miles.  The Site is spotless and clean.  The Country Park is just out of the main entrance where children have a wonderful play park to play in.  It will be a site we regularly visit

Good for stopover

Stayed here just the one night due to collection of a motorbike from Chesterfield and rather than dash home again we stayed out the night. Efficient check in and rules run through (lol) and then left to sort ourselves out. TV reception was awful but I am not fussed with telly anyway when on campsites. Slept lovely as so peaceful, everyone friendly mostly and facilities sparkling clean. Would def stay again if in area.

Lovely clean site

Stayed here with our grandchildren..... Lovely site and very clean facilities. The wardens are lovely and friendly even if they are paid the minimum wage as they informed us when we complimented them on the cleanliness if the site.

Summer Visit 2 day stopover

Summer holiday stop over on way home. Lovely clean site, wardens very helpful on arrival. Lovely bright and airy site layout, but weather was exceptional during our visit. Lovely walks around site with adjacent country park and man made lakes. Would return again as its location us great for stop overs heading North or South with easy access from M1 (A1)

Enjoyable weekend apart from weather

Had a 3 night weekend stay. As previous reviews state good facilities. Unfortunately the weather spoiled the stay but we can't dictate how it will be. Easy access from M1 and well sign posted. Immaculate facilities. The wardens can be a bit abrupt ensuring rules are followed, a guest parked on grass and told to move it in with a bit of an edge in his manner. Observed young child playing ball with adult and again warden seemed rather abrupt. I understand there are rules but courtesy costs nothing. Site is extremely clean, tidy and well presented. Annoying thing that not all dog owners clean up after there pets.

Overnight stop

We stayed here for just one night on our way north, it's perfect for this as its 5 mins from the M1, as you would expect the site is great along with all the services on it,

Family weekend

As usual it is a pleasure to visit this site . The site is spotlessly clean very tidy and peaceful ,it is our favourite caravan club site . We arrived to the regular wardens expertly and calmly dealing with a camper upset due to a shortage of gas .the regular wardens are very professional and keep the site immaculate , however the new warden seem a little keen , almost shouting at campers in his zeal to make sure every one stuck rigidly to the rules . Also strimming a hedge at 6 pm on a Saturday evening not conducive to a relaxing evening .one point the fire alarm went off in the toilet block , after 10 mins several campers went to see what was happening and my sister and I checked the toilets to make sure no one was ill . The wardens were unaware the fire alarm was ringing , they came as soon as they were told but maybe they need a fire alarm bell nearer to them . All in all a great time and our families who visited were made very welcome , thank you

perfect for stopover off M1 but worthy of longer stay

We recently stayed for the fifth time. All visits have been as an overnight stop when travelling on M1 and the site is perfect for this. It is also nice when travelling to be greeted by such friendly and helpful wardens. The site itself has a relaxing atmosphere and as we keep saying we must at some stage stay a little longer - all in all a greatly recommended club site.

Lovely site

We had 6 nights at Poolsbrooke, unfortunately the sat nav took us through Staveley then through an Industrial Estate and finally on to the site which wasn't a great first impression. On leaving we realised the motorway was actually 1/2 mile in the other direction making it very easy to access and a much nicer entrance. The site itself is very well kept and the wardens are helpful and friendly. The country park is very close and is wonderful for cycle rides for all ages with various lengths of tracks. There is a super play park there but I did miss an on site park for my eldest child to play at independently in the evenings. The town of Staveley is nothing special but Chesterfield was nice and further away in Matlock, Bakewell and Buxton. We spent most of our time there and probably should have booked Chatsworth instead although we did enjoy our stay at Poolsbrooke.
