Wonderful

We were only going to stay overnight but ended up staying for three. As people have said previously, the road up to the site is narrow in places but there are passing places and if you take your time there are no problems. We were met with a wonderful warm welcome. All the wardens on this site are very very friendly and helpful. We had a great pitch with plenty of room. the site and its facilities are excellent. The icing on the cake was the fantastic dog walk. Great pizza van came one night and the pizzas were fab. Now that we have found this site we will definitely return. What a gem.

Quiet and peaceful outwith high season

Enjoyed our stay at Ramslade which wasn't difficult to find from Totnes direction but the lane for the last couple of miles was worthy of concentration and care. The narrowness of the lane was highlighted in numerous reviews so we expected it to be tight but not dangerous to negotiate as long as you take time and anticipate, as best you can, any difficult sight lines. There are numerous passing places which worked well when required. On arrival, despite being in place according to the book time ( noon ) we were not allowed entry unlike the four other Caravan Club sites we used on this month long tour. The exit from the site came as a surprise - it was through another gate ( very slow to open ) at the far side of the site. Tricky slope so keep your revs up/ select a low gear if your car is anywhere near underpowered. The site itself was spacious, clean, well kept and a credit to the hard working Wardens. The views from the upper pitches were good particularly if you managed to avoid trees blocking the light. Very well placed for sight seeing in the Torbay area as well as further afield using the excellent ferry service across the R Dart. We would use this site again.

well done

We recently stayed over the jubilee weekend and enjoyed the party that was hosted by the lovely wardens. This site is a great site to stay very helpful wardens nothing is too much trouble for them. A very clean well kept site and a lovely enclosed field for our dog. We will always come back every year to stay as we only live in Exeter so convenient for a relaxed few days. Well done, Marie and John Clarke and Pippa Yorkie russell

A truly brilliant site!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Helpful staff, clean facilities, and overall a very well kept site. The road leading to the campsite is a bit narrow in places with blind corners, but there's plenty of passing spots. With a bit of attention it's absolutely not a problem, so don't be put off by this!

Happy and relaxing

A very relaxing and happy site, with clean facilities and well maintained grounds. There was a very well maintained and large fenced area to let dogs off lead. An even larger area for children with adventure equipment and local supermarkets near by.

Enjoyable break

We decided to pay a visit to south Devon and we weren't disappointed, Ramslade is a beautiful site, large pitches and extremely well cared for, all facilities were kept immaculate. Wardens very helpful and informative. Stoke Gabriel a short walk (around 20 / 25 minutes) depending on how fit you are, or less if on your bike, there is a small shop / post office that sells pretty much everything you need, a lovely village. Bus service good and reliable, stops right outside the site. A lovely stay.

The only 3 ratings are because the site is not open

I wirite this review as my first contact with this site. It was closed!! I knew that when I turned up as a new user of their storage. I was greeted by two people who I think may be temporarily there on loan from Steamer Quay, Totnes. What a delight! They were so helpful. I was given clear directions and even a guide who kept up with us despite being slightly out of breath - our fault not his!! He helped and directed up to our storage pitch and when I suddenly realised that I had forgotten my gas bottle key was able to help out. I knew then that they were busy that day with other CAMC work and so we were doubly grateful. Better flag flyers for the CAMC we could not ask for. They were a credit to the club and just as importantly, to themselves. I will renew my membership with confidence. Geoffrey Hyde Fynn

Beautiful area

Very narrow road to the site but if you take your time it holds no issues. Site wardens on this site are very helpful and friendly. Site grounds are lovely well taken care of and facilities clean and in good repair. This site has an excellent dog field fully enclosed it even has a bench and a dog bin . I was very much looking forward to the walks from the site as the area is beautiful however the roads have no footpaths and its quite a busy road once you leave the site . I walked into Stoke Gabriel with my dog which was lovely but very risky roads . If you have a car the area is lovely and we found lots to do .
