Ramslade Club Campsite is nestled attractively between the River Dart and the coast offering facilities that won't disappoint. The campsite is ideal for families, with plenty to keep everyone entertained in the local area and a playing field on site. This campsite affords beautiful hillside views from most of its pitches and is only a mile from Stoke Gabriel, one of Devon's prettiest villages. Crabbing at low tide is an absolute tradition in the area and easy river access to the village makes this an excellent centre for exploring towns along the English Riviera such as Torquay, Paignton and Brixham.

Within the lovely South Hams area of Devon, Ramslade Club Campsite also offers easy access to the inland attractions of Dartmoor and the busting cities of Plymouth and Exeter. The convenient location of the campsite will also give you the opportunity to explore a number of National Trust properties. For walking enthusiasts, the numerous coastal pathways are guaranteed to give hours of scenic pleasure. For a fun day out with the kids, don't miss the Splashdown water park at Goodrington.

Vacation

Ramslade Club Campsite
I have stayed at Ramslade on numerous occasions since the CAMC in their wisdom have made it obvious that they don’t want caravans at their Steamer Quay campsite (which is another story!) and it is always immaculate with a very helpful team keeping it that way,,however, on a recent visit in August, I saw another side of our “members” and their families, the site staff were constantly trying their best to keep toilets clean and unblocked from paper put in the cisterns, trying to stop families hurtling the wrong way round the one way system on their bikes and scooters, trying to compact huge boxes thrown in the bins without a thought of crushing them first, then, on top of that we had a visit from the “ travelling community “ I can only say what a marvellous job the warden did of keeping them off the site, even to standing by a locked gate for 8 hours on one of the hottest days of the year!,, finally as I seem to be getting it off my chest,, why do a lot of dog owners think it’s ok to walk their little darlings around the site to do their business on any bit of green they can find regardless whether it’s someone’s pitch or not? All that said, it’s still one of the nicest sites on the network, with brilliant staff,, maybe it will be a bit quieter next time when us wrinkies are back!!😂😂

Lovely little gem

Ramslade Club Campsite
This was our first visit to Ramslade and won't be our last. Lovely, dare I say pretty site with trees lining some of the pitches and distant hill views. We stayed on August Bank Holiday weekend and were pleasantly surprised at how peaceful it was, having expected it to be completely full. There are no bells and whistles at Ramslade but the important facilities were spotless. We were on a fully serviced pitch which was a standard size and just about acommodated our 7.5mtr motorhome, awning and my daughter's Nissan Juke. The 'winding' road from Paignton into the site and on to Stoke Gabriel itself was not an issue for us, but I guess it depends on how confident a driver you are. The majority of the road is more than adequate, although you if you're larger than 6.5mts you might not want to drive down into the lower part of the village. The area truly surprised us with undulating countryside, sea views, cosy cottages and charming villages. Having been to Hillhead (6 miles away) on many occasions over the past 12 years we thought we knew it well, but this little section of south Devon is delightful and filled us with a desire to return when we had just about given up. If you are after a little bit of serenity away from the hustle and bustle of the more popular sites, Ramslade is definitely worth a visit.

Lovely site, don't be put off by access reviews

Ramslade Club Campsite
Beautiful site with immaculate facilities. Wardens friendly and efficient. The road leading to the club from the main road is narrow and twisting in parts, however not the worst access we have encountered by any means. We met vehicles on the 1.5 mile access road but go slowly, have patience and don't be rushed by other road users. We loved the site and would recommend it.

Nice site - access awful

Ramslade Club Campsite
Nicely laid out site and great staff. Local area good with relatively close access to beaches, pubs, restaurants etc. Only issue is the access road. The handbook describes this as winding but that is not the main issue. This is a very narrow lane relying on passing places for cars let alone caravans. On our way in we met 3 delivery vans following each other (they were driving with the amout of care usually displayed by such drivers). With the car/van in the hedge we crawled past with less than an inch to spare. A miracle the van or car wasn't damaged. I'm afraid this is enough to mean we are unlikely to visit again and wouldn't recommend.
