First visit to Ramslade

We spent 10 nights at this site. On approaching the site I was surprised at how narrow the lane was, even with the passing places it wasn't the easiest site to get to. Once on site we received a lovely welcome from Mandy, one of the site wardens. We stayed on the only hard standing pitch available which was near to the toilet block and visiting chip/curry van. The next day we asked if we could move to a pitch that had become available and this was easily accommodated. The staff were friendly and helpful with lots of convenient touches such as being able to order newspapers and purchase fresh bread etc. The Fish and Chip's provided from the visiting van were excellent, don't know about the curry van but it certainly smelt good. I was a little surprised that there was only 3 toilets in the Gents, especially for such a large site. Ample showers and private wash rooms . Cleanliness was faultless. Our grand children visited and enjoyed the use of the amusement arcade, the table tennis and Connect Four. Difficulty getting mobile reception, you have to walk to the bench near at the top of the site. Nice walk in to Stoke Gabriel, about 25 minutes away. We left on Sunday morning at 8.00 am so that we could reduce the risk of meeting another vehicle coming in the opposite direction.
