This was our first stay (2 nights) at Richmond Hargill House site... it certainly won't be our last! 👍
This fairly small site is immaculately well kept and the staff are very welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble. The facilities are excellent and kept spotlessly clean 👏👏. The pitches are generous in size and well maintained.
The location is outstandingly beautiful and although the site lies adjacent to the A66, we were not affected by excessive traffic noise at any time during our stay.
During our stay we visited the nearby market towns of Richmond, Leyburn and Thirsk, all picturesque and well worth a visit.
We can't wait to stay at Richmond Hargill House again... it won't be long, we're sure!
perfect stopover for Scotland trip
Very helpful and friendly warden, immaculate site and facilities. Great for stopover on Scotland trip. Read reviews saying noisy due to road noise but didn't hear any, may be due to location of pitch. Would definitely visit again.

A lovely short stay
We had a lovely stay here (despite lots of rain). Really friendly and helpful wardens (we forgot our levelling ramps and they were happy to lend us one). Site was very clean and well tended and the facilities were spotless. A little surprised to find a sign on the back of the toilet door asking us to use our own facilities where possible given the site provides these for our use and we are paying for them but other than that we had no complaints about our stay. There is road noise but the helpful wardens advised us to choose a pitch down the hill away from the road to avoid this - we did, and the noise wasn’t bad at all especially after about 9pm. We will come back to this site in the spring as there is lots to visit nearby and the views will be lovely then.
Thank you
We have stayed on dozens of club sites and this year had a seasonal pitch at Richmond. We have never been made to feel more welcome than here. Stuart and Rebecca are the warmest and most caring managers. The site is immaculate and facilities spotless. Thank you Stuart and Rebecca for a fabulous season with you.
October 2023
We've just spent 4 nights here, the wardens are so friendly it's refreshing, compared to some sites, it has a nice little shop inside for essentials. Cleanliness of the site is very good. It's got a bug hotel, herbs which you can help yourself too and if course lots of rabbits.
The site is directly behind the A66 so can be noisy but the views out weigh it for us.
We will definitely be back 😀
During our trip we stayed here twice.
Traveling through the UK for 8 weeks, so I can easily compare camping sites.
We are also members of the significantly cheaper Camping & Caravanning Club.
I can be brief:
Wardens: excellent
Pitches: spacious
Sanitary facilities: fine
Wifi: good (provided you stand in the right position)
Price: expensive
TV reception: good
Water points: good
Waste location: good
Dog walk: bad
Location: perfect (provided you don't mind traffic noise)
Excellent site run perfectly by the managers
Second time staying at Hargill site for a short 3 night s perfect location excellent facilities friendly staff helpful kind 👍 as always. Facilities are spot on nipping clean as usual grounds are kept in tip top condition.

a nice campsite in a perfect location
Stayed at this beautiful campsite on my way from Oban to Dover after a two month journey from Italy to the Inner Hebrides and back. The owners are really kind and helpful people. The campsite is well-kept with a perfect lawn and large hard-standing pitches for motorhomes. The facilities always maintained to the highest standard and truly immaculate. The point for motorhome services is very well made and easy to use. It was a very pleasant stopover, very relaxing and one that I can truly recommend.
Hidden gem
Often use Knaresborough or Durham as a stop going north or just to enjoy two wonderful areas, but thought we would have a change only to discover a beautiful site, excellent wardens and stunning views, not to mention Richmond which is stunning. Another great c@mh club site.
