Beautiful site. Nice wardens, helpful and friendly and the site was so peaceful. Nice walks from site, including River Breamish and a nature reserve next to the site (there are snakes). Toilet block was spotless. In a great location – to the East – Alnwick (20 mins), Craster, Seahouses, Bamburgh (40 mins). To the West - Northumberland National Park, Kielder Park (designated Dark Sky park), lovely drive through Kielder (£3 toll at one end). NTrust house Cragside is fantastic along with the village of Rothbury.
Why did we give it 3 stars? Speeding which is not addressed. We have stayed at many CClub sites in our 22 years of caravanning, and I have never left a review but felt I needed to. You always get someone on site that doesn’t adhere to the 5-mph rule, River Breamish site is the worst we’ve been to, if our children were still young I would not feel comfortable letting them play out. Some cars/motorhomes where in 3rd gear, they would drive past the wardens who didn’t bat an eyelid.
